I have a Sony cybershot 5.0 mega pixels

Your right the resolution is not very high...

I can make them bigger though...... even right after I have taken them on my camera.

I have never had a burry picture....

i guess i had better do some testing with it before i leave.... we used it on our trip last year.. but we have always used our pentax as well... just wanted to get down to one camera.
    Yes, it is fast....

    No, you can't drive IT.

    Drive it like it's stolen.

HAHAH SO I ended up buying a 1 GB card a few days ago for $70. Next up are some new batteries, but that can wait another month or so (although the sooner the better).

I currently have the Canon Digital Rebel. I love it. Mostly for the fact that it's now an investment and like everyone's said, the technology keeps improving. Lens' however, are pretty static unless you consider ultrasonic focus, image stabilization, etc. Optics are the only "permanent" piece of the whole equipment collection. Anyways, the pics it takes are absolutely remarkable. Entry-level is definately the word here although. But at $1000 when I got mine, it doesn't sound very entry-level. I've seen them in stores now for $800 with the basic kit lens.

I just saw that Canon came out with the Digital Rebel XT. This is the 8MP version of the Rebel. Think of it like this. The Canon 10D is to the Digital Rebel as the Canon 20D is to the Rebel XT. Might be something to consider for you "about to buy a Rebel" people out there.

Although if I had an extra $1500 lying around, I'd grab me a Canon 20D in a second. I'm really into long-exposure night photography, and the Rebel works well but still produces a bit of noise at longer exposure times. The 20D is SO much better. It's heavier, has a better feel, it's crazy fast, etc. (drool)

    Anyways, I'm rambling here.

If you still have your manual, page 21 explains it all. If not, I can send you a copy via e-mail. Just pm me with an address. I hope you bought a big memory stick.

You are right about going for the 20D. It is the best way to go but when the budget is straining to begin with, the drebel is a good camera. I just received mine in the ma
il a week ago and already had to send it to the shop, I bent a pin in the CF slot. DAMN. I sent it to California where it was repaired and sent back within the week. New Jersey is taking about 4.

I am looking forward to the day I can nuy some L glass for the thing. Huzah.
