MP3 to Wav converter

Does anyone in this group know of a free downloadable program to convert an MP3 sound file (I found an MP3 file of Voldemort speaking from the new movie and want to use it as a sound file on my computer) that doesn't have a bunch of addware crap attached to it that says you have to view all these pop up ads in order to keep the program working. I just have one little file that happens to be a ringtone for cell phones and its in MP3 and I need a wav file for the computer to understand.

You can use iTunes. Add the file to your library, go to preferences then advanced, choose importing, choose WAV (and whatever encoding settings you want), go to the advanced drop down menu in the application, then select "covert selection to WAV".

Thanks, I have Itunes for Podcasts so I will give that a try. I am not all that familer with Itunes so I hope it does things as it's supposed to.

P.S. I heard that new Intel Macs are coming this January, maybe time to think about upgrading?

You should seriously look into ugrading your OS. Microsoft doesnt even release security patches for ME anymore. You're at high risk for trojans, spyware, viruses, and identity theft. Consider XP Home at the very lease.

There's a nice Open Source program called Audacity that will open, edit, and save to some popular formats.

It should work with ME just fine.

But I also agree, you should upgrade your OS.
