    Disney DVD

I was wondering if anybody knew if there is something that Disney does, probably patented, in making their DVDs that technologically warrants the name "Disney DVD"? Or is this simply a case of Disney slapping "Disney" on anything and everything it can?

It's just a label they slap on there. It looks good, and it sells. There's nothing really technologically different with the discs (aside from Disney's FastPlay which comes on some but not all Disney DVDs, but that's a different discussion).

It's the latter. The DVD division of Buena Vista Home Entertainment that is devoted to Walt Disney Pictures content is generally known as "Disney DVD." It's not a technical thing by any stretch.
