    Looking for a good camcorder

I need a good camcorder. Something that is great for movie making aka editing on the computer. Something with the ability to shoot good night shots and have great sound as well. I don't really wanna spend more than $400 so what do you recommend? I see a lot of Sony cams for under $400 I just don't know what would suit me best.

I have a PC and I'm planning on mostly daytime filming but I just wanna make sure it can do nighttime filming as well.

With spending $400, try to find a higher-end camera that is used - you're going to get much better footage than with a regular "point and shoot" consumer camera. I highly recommend Craigs List and Ebay for deals.

What am I looking to film at night? Well I'm not sure yet but probably a ton of scenery, driving scenes, and nighttime shows at Disney such as Fantasmic.

I use a Canon Elura 100 Mini-DV camcorder, it takes great vids of fireworks, when I don't forget to turn on the fireworks setting. I use it mainly on easy mode most of the time, and it looks great for daytime shooting. It also shoots in true widescreen mode which I like. It has image stabilization. It's light, very small, and also very easy to use.

The price is usually around $300 to $350. Just about every camcorder under $400 is gonna have some kind of issues in lowlight conditions such as darkrides.
It shoots pretty good in darkness if the subject itself that is being filmed has some sort of light on it, if that even makes sense.

The night mode setting however is worthless on the Elura 100 as it makes it very grainy and doesn't use the image stabilization.
