Hard Disk repair.....

I have had some problems recently with my laptop. I had reformat my hard drive twice in the past month. Now it is running very sluggishly and sometimes give me a startup message asking me to delete the saved startup information or something like that. I have run dskchk twice on it which has made some improvements on performance (my internal speakers came back). After this, I ran SeaTools- the drive failed every scan I ran. Well the problem with SeaTools is that I don't think it fixes the problems it finds, which doesn't really help me.

So is there another program out there that will actually repair the problems it finds? Or do I have to take it to a professional at this point? It is still under warranty, so I am not worried about that, but I need to use it for school for another month (all our tests must be taken on campus with these computers) so I need to get by without damaging it further by continuing to use it.

Any suggestions?

perhaps the hard drive has a fault and is failing??
(My HP desktop had a similar issue and just died one day... ended up getting a new HD for it..)

I would say take it to a tech guy to get a quick look to see if it is mechanical...

Yes, yes, definatley do this. But first, make sure to backup any and all important data. homework, financial, music, anything important to you.

Then get that HD looked at and quick! Better to get it fixed now, than have to go totally bad at another mor inopportune time. To most profs (me included) my "HD died" is like "My dog ate my homework".
