Yeah, you're wrong.
You can listen to music from an iPod on a different computer, but you can't take the music off.

I voted for black, but I have a red Nano so I'm really no help. ;)
I voted for black! However, its only because it is my favorite color for just about everything, especially electronics (I know its very silly but its my thing) .. Camera, Phone, iPOD, Purses, Wallets, .... yup about everything that is always with me is black.
When my 3 year old ipod stopped functioning properly I was so very excited to get a black one!
my black ipod is in a clear case to protect it. :)
I tend toward classic things... Though I had major lust for the black iPod when they first introduced it a few years back, I think now I'd keep with the white one. Has that mod look to it that I go gaga over.
My next iPod purchase will be a Shuffle. I just want something I can clip onto my sleeve while working out without it bouncing around everywhere. I'll go with the brushed metal color." Or blue. Or green. Maybe pink. I haven't made up my mind. ;)
whiteeeee
White, it won't look as scratched a year later;)
At least with Black you can pretend it's not a Mac product...
I have a white, chose black but really it does not make to big a difference. my ipod is in a very cute case. http://img.inkfrog.com/pix/soonitrad..._CASE_iPod.jpg
so it is never out of it.
If you have all of your music on your Windows system, you can set up the sharing feature on its iTunes application and you can view your entire library or the parts which you want to share from your apple. Just make sure you have the version 7.2 or the same version on both computers of iTunes.
I hope this helps!
Ohh and I would go with the classic white iPod. I have the 3rd Gen 15gb (white), 1st Gen Shuffle (White) and the free with my laptop 1st Gen Nano (white). I just think that it was more umm apple-ish since when the first iBooks plastic white came out (around the time of the first iPod) i had always wanted one :-D
