Exclamation Converting songs from itunes to Windows Media Player

As far as listening to music goes, I much prefer the format of itunes over Windows Media Player. I use itunes to listen to music on my laptop and to put songs on my ipod shuffle. However.....I just got a new Chocolate phone from Verizon and, obviously, putting songs on here will require the use of Windows Media Player.

Can I transfer my itunes files into Windows Media Player? Some are bought off the itunes store, but most are synched from CDs.

Thanks for any assistance!

EDIT: Does anyone have one of the new chocolates from Verizon? I'm trying to find a music program that will be compatible with the chocolate besides V Cast.

Re: Converting songs from itunes to Windows Media Player

Any songs purchased from Itunes will not convert to WMA files for your Verizon phone. (At least in my case. I had exactly the same issue pop up!)

Since I do not store too much music on my computer, I found it much easier and less time consuming to just re-rip what I wanted onto my phone.

However, I do believe that any songs not purchased through Itunes should rip right into a WMA file for your phone.

I believe you can use the same technique used to convert Protected AAC to MP3 (I have to do that because my in house system will not use Protected AAC).

1. Burn an audio CD from Itunes. At this point it is just like a CD you purchase.
2. Rip the CD in the format you want, MP3, WMA, whatever. YOu may have to use a different program to rip as I do not believe iTunes will rip WMA, maybe your Windows Media Player will rip CD's. In any case you will need something other than iTunes to rip to WMA.
3. Transfer to desired device.
4. Done.

Re: Converting songs from itunes to Windows Media Player

If you have Windows Media Player 10 or above, it will rip CDs.
