Apple & RIM Dominate Siesmic Shift to Smartphones

For those of you not in the know, Motorola is actually trying to rid itself of its cellphone division. Attempt to sell to several major manufacturers (LG, Samsung, etc), were unsuccessful however.

As you or I might have guessed, Apple and RIM have the highest customer satisfaction. Palm sucks bowling balls :surprisesurprise:

Interesting about Motorola. My last 2 cell phones were Motorolas and I liked them well enough.

But yay for RIM! I keep posting how I love my Blackberry but I'll say it again... I love my Blackberry!

mmmmm i'm really happy with my palm treo 750. I've been able to have applications on there iphone can't. (unless i've been lied to lol, stuff like yahoo go!, and stuff) I even have mine to where i can watch youtube on it. But the display could be better. Eh, it was $99 with a contract renewal. Way cheaper than the iphone for me. I'll reconsider when the 3g launches.

Pretty much any 3G phone can access youtube, even non-PDA/Smartphones.

Palm is so bad, that they actually buy people out rather than keep repairing their phones. A fellow musician friend of mine has had a 680 for a long time, and he gets his phone warrantied at least 2-3 times a year. I told him it's just a matter of time until they pay him to get a new phone.

As far as applications go, at the end of the month, Apple will release their SDK. That will allow for third party apps (like Y!Go) to be run natively on the iPhone. I wouldn't be surprised if Treo falls off the face of the earth.
