What was the mishap? She got a bill detailing everything she sent. I do online billing, so that's never been an issue for me.

I fail to see mishandling, customer service, or even a mistake on AT&T's part on this one.

I've only been working for AT&T for over a year, but I've been with them/cingular since 2003. I've never had to call customer service even once for a problem. To me, not having a reason to call customer service beats out a lot of competitors!

Re: ATT/iPhone info and complaints

I got you beat. I've been with them since 2000 when they were still BellSouth in my neck of the woods. I've never had a problem with them either. Only time I had to call customer service was when I was moving from Tampa to Clearwater and wasn't sure if I needed my number changed because I was moving to a different area code. Since the Tampa Bay calling area is the same no matter where you live in the area, they said I could keep the number I'd already been with the previous 5 years.

I do online billing too, which is good because since I have an unlimited data/text plan on my Blackberry, I use it a LOT.

Re: ATT/iPhone info and complaints

I had Nextel and then Sprint for many years. Both were terrible. Then I switched to AT&T for the iPhone. Everything has been great. Bought the phone in about 30 seconds and it took less than a minute to activate.

I've only had to call AT&T once (to add a second phone to my plan) they couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. Even gave me a personal number that I could call back if the number port didn't go as planned.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend either the iPhone or AT&T.

Re: ATT/iPhone info and complaints

I had AT&T before they closed down.. and they were fine then. I've had Verizon since 1992 and I'm so happy to be rid of them! I switched to cingular about 3 years ago now and it's been smooth sailing.

Everyone was griping about AT&T being the carrier for the iphone and I was saying 'who cares, they're great!'. They are the most flexible, reasonably priced, and have great selection. Three things Verizon are NOT.

Also, AT&T doesn't disable/cripple things on their devices like GPS and force you to use their service. Verizon does and from what I heard, their GPS service is terrible. I'll stick with my free Google Maps, thank you.

Re: ATT/iPhone info and complaints

Soul,

Any hookups for the new IPHONE? I don't want to start a new thread, but any updates on when it is out? Also, what accessories do you recommend? Do I need to buy one from apple or att?

Thanks!

Re: ATT/iPhone info and complaints

I've been with AT&T, then Cingular, then AT&T since 2002 and I have no complaints. They have the best coverage, and for those of us who live in the hills, that's important. I never drop calls. There used to be one curve on one hill, but that's been fixed.

Customer service is good, my bills are reasonable, I do my billing online, love rollover minutes, love my mobile to mobile, unlimited texting plan and I text Google to get maps, addresses and ph. numbers for free.

I've always had good sales people in the AT&T store I go to who know how to program anything and everything into my phones for me. This last time, the guy gave me a ton of applications for my Palm Centro. Just because he's a good guy and is excited about the phone. That's good customer service. I'll keep coming back to that store because of people like him.

We don't know DIDDLY about the new iPhone lol. Literally we have access to all the same resources you do, namely engadget.com and macrumors

However, I am scheduled for Data training on Friday. I doubt it's on the iPhone as we just launched ATT Mobile TV (live TV via an actual TV tuner built into your phone, no streaming and lag over internet). If it is, I'll promptly be trying to sell my current gen iPhone ASAP.

Whatever info I get, I'll be sure to post it up here similar to last year. As far as accessories, I say just a case, and Apple care just in case. You don't need a screen protector or anything like that. I've dropped my iPhone lots of times, and it still looks fantastic!

Thanks very much, I CANNOT wait to get my hands on my iPHONE. I am not a patient man, and this has tested every ounce I have. This will be a great new way to kill time at work.

Do you think the iPHONE will be able to watch live tv? Would that be an extra fee, or included, if you had to guess?
Thanks so much!
