    It just clears the history and current default for the DNS server ( Domain Name System, Internet system to translate names into IP addresses) you use. That way you may pick up a new one that isn't caching the incorrect name that you're being routed to.

    My photobucket account wasn't accesable a couple times yesterday, and Pratt55 mentioned some issues with her photobucket pictures not showing here on Micechat, for awhile yesterday.

    I really should add my pictures on flikr or photomug too, just in case.

    Thanks for the DNS flush tip MCOW1, didn't work for me unfortunately, I had a friend email them on my behalf however they just sent the same cookie cutter email out, so I guess patience is going to have to suffice

    Thank you, MCOW1 - that's the most helpful post I've found during this whole fiasco. it didn't work for me, but I appreciate your taking the time to give us an insider tip (which I'm saving for next time!)

    I got a more detailed reply from [email protected] a few minutes ago that says, basically, if you still can't see Photobucket images, you have to wait for your ISP to clear its cache, which could take 72 hours or more...

    "If you still do not have access to Photobucket, please try rebooting your computer. If this does not resolve the issue, please try again later, as the redirect may still be cached in your ISP's DNS files. Depending on the ISP, it may take up to 72 hours (or longer) for their DNS cache to be cleared (orfor it to expire), so you should consider contacting them to see if anything can be expedited. Unfortunately, Photobucket can not do anything to help speed up the process. It is completely out of our control at this point.

    Please accept our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience that this may be causing you. We thank you for your patience, and appreciate your understanding.

    I've been able to access my Photobucket accounts (mine and Wonderpup's) with no issues all week. Weird.
