It was not a fun morning. After waking up at 5 am to update the software on my phone to version 2.0, my phone locked up and wouldn't work. It displayed a strange error and would not complete the upgrade process.
I had already decided to go to the store to buy a new phone but wanted to play with the new 2.0 software while waiting in line.
By the time I got to the store at 6:45, there were over 400 people waiting. I waited until about 8:30 and the line had only moved by about 20 people. So I got out of line and went to work.
We had people following the struggles at various stores this morning. I wrote a post on my work blog about it that some of you may enjoy:
I'm headed back to the store at noon to see if there is any chance of getting in and getting the new phone.
You can fix the problem with a locked up 1.0 phone by disconnecting and reconnecting the phone to your computer. It will eventually connect, but you may have to try dozens of times before it does.
What was your experience?
