Brisingr (Third book of The Inheritance Cycle)

Brisingr is the third volume of the Inheritance Cycle, a high fantasy series by Christopher Paolini It has been scheduled for publication in September 2008. The previous books in the series, Eragon and Eldest, have both been bestsellers. The series was first planned as a trilogy (named Inheritance Trilogy), but was subsequently announced to be a four part series and the name was changed. Paolini announced this, saying Brisingr would otherwise have been too large.
Regarding Brisingr and the choice of name, Paolini has said:

Brisingr is one of the first words I thought of for this title, and it’s always felt right to me. [...] As the first ancient-language word that Eragon learns, it has held particular significance for his legacy as a Dragon Rider. In this new book, it will be revealed to be even more meaningful than even Eragon could have known.

I loved the last two books, and so far I'm loving this one as well! Anyone else planning on, or currently reading it?

I plan on reading it. I've read the first two. As much as I like the idea behind the story, the books themselves are not very well written. The amount of padding the author puts in there is criminal. How many times can we cross this same desert?

He also lacks discipline, letting the story run away with him. His "trilogy" has expanded to a four-pack. Undeservedly, considering again how much he pads things out. The whole things could probably have been done in two books.

Who knows. Maybe Brisingr is written more tightly.
