Solo at the Parks?

Hiya fellow teens!
It looks like I might find myself in southern California for a little over a week this summer. I may have about two or three days free, and my dad wants to meet up with his old buddies.
Well that's great for him, but I want to go to Disneyland, of course!

My question is, have any of you ever been solo at the parks? I'm old enough that I think I can handle it, but I'm curious to hear from others!

Re: Solo at the Parks?

I enjoy it! I went 3 times by myself over my spring break, and rode whatever I wanted. Mostly, it was Indy, several trips on the railroad, and a few on the Monorail. DCA was nice to go to as well. It only got lonely when I started getting fed up seeing all the couples there together... jealousy I guess. But otherwise it's rather relaxing, free, and enjoyable.

Re: Solo at the Parks?

I started a very similar thread about going to Walt Disney World alone a few weeks back... although it isn't about Disneyland, it's probably worth a quick read!

Walt Disney World... alone!

A simple answer from what I was told: YES!

That's about all I do when it gets too busy and I'm by myself. I usually get my coffee refill beforehand, and then sip it on the ride. I sometimes do the same thing for pirates, but I've been told you're not allowed to bring drinks, so I have to be sneaky.

As SeaWolf38 said, seeing couples/families/groups of friends having fun together can prіck you with a feeling of loneliness unexpectedly. For me, thinking that I could just be at home right now instead of having fun at Disneyland makes the feeling disappear.

Be sure to use the single rider on splash and indy! I must ride indy a dozen times whenever I go alone, and every time it's less than a five minute wait!

Re: Solo at the Parks?

I've done a couple short but solo trips. It's actually pretty neat, as you're not as distracted with your friends you get to see more and notice more.
Take advantage of all the single rider lines, totally worth it!

Re: Solo at the Parks?

Definately! A lot actually, Whenever my parents or even younger brother want to rest they just let me go to the park (mainly because we stay there so it's not a hassle to get to and from my room.) It feels really good being alone because you don't have to worry about pace the you have the whole park to yourself!
It's funny because when I'm alone a lot of tourists who are new to the park ask me a lot of questions since I'm by myself and it looks like I know where I'm going.

Re: Solo at the Parks?

I've gone alone a lot and I really enjoy it. Only one time I went on Autopia and the CM asked, "Only one?" like it was odd.

Re: Solo at the Parks?

I do it all the time. Some CM's find it odd but who cares! It's great to be able to go there and enjoy it without the usual drama people bring along.

Re: Solo at the Parks?

Solo is awesome. You don't have anyone telling you what to do, and you don't have anyone to take care of either.

Single rider lines are a godsend. I always use the SR pass on Splash, Indy, and Screamin' when I'm there. Have fun!
