Re: Does Your Mom Rock?

Hmm, I guess I'm the first one saying this, but I'm friends with my mom! And no, she never tried to be my best friend like that, but we just get along well and she's only 20 years older than me, anyway! She's always worked hard to maintain our home, even now that she has a job since we're getting older and don't need her home all the time.

You're wrong, Brer Rabbit, why would I want to be home when I can be at Disneyland?!?

Re: Does Your Mom Rock?

My mom rocks. She understands me, and understands when i get frustrated. She is always there to comfort me, and even though she can be dorky at times, its all worth it. I dont care if she embarrasses me in front of all my friends, im just thankful to have a healthy (more like health nut) mother who cares about me, and wants me to grow up and be smart, and not make a lot of mistakes she made.

I think that she is awesome because she did everything humanly possible to make me and my siblings good people. She took a job in sales even though she had a much better job and a degree (even though she is embaressed her friends make much more than her). She wanted to make sure she had the time to make sure that she gained our affection, not purchased it. Even though she had to suffer through our tears, she would punish us when we acted out. She didn't keep the house spotless, but who remembers if the laundry wasn't folded?

I think a major problem is that too many parents want to just be best friends with their kids... and kids don't want all their best friends to be 40. I never want to have to raise kids because I know that I am just one of those people who seeks approval from the people around me... so I would probably never want my kids to be mad at me. But I know that now... so problem avoided.
Your very wise. A good mom will teach her child, not bribe or other wise do as the child wants. Your mom had taught you some valuable lessons, she sounds wonderful ! But again, you sound like a wonderful person to!
