How safe are schools?

How safe is the school you go too? Also, how safe are the schools in your area?

My school is not safe at all, but it is a university and rarely experiences any violence. But still, the only thing it has in regards to safety is a sign out front that says guns are prohibited on campus. Nothing has changed.

Our school is pretty ok, but there's been a lot of knifes and stuff brought on the premises. The schools surrounding us are a little worse, since i attend a public school everything is pretty safe, there're many city schools around us where almost everything happens.

my school is kinda in an unsafe neighborhood, but it is a safe school. we were in algebra, and there was a gunshot down the street, but the school went on lockdown for two hours, so the school is safe, but the hood its in isn't.

My high school is full of the richest kids in town and the poorest kids in town....so there isn't really violence but there are a lot of drugs.

During my freshman year, a girl pulled a knife to some kid's throat in biology class. My sophomore year we had a few bomb threats. My junior year, a football player accidentally left his hunting gun in his trunk after a weekend in the mountains and he got suspended for around a month. Otherwise, I feel really safe.

And I'm guessing that my college will be full of a lot of peace-loving artists so I'll be good.

mine is all colors of the rainbow. you got the ghetto kids, the kids that live on the beaches, the average kids, the super smart kids (pretty much everyone except a few who got through the system) so you have everywhere from millionaires to kids who live is awful neighborhoods (like down the street from the school)

Before I graduated my High School was not very safe at all. A lot of gang violence went on almost every week happened.

My school is kind of the same way. We don't really have "ghetto" kids our school is for kids from Paradise Valley and Scottsdale (Two very nice cities in the Phoenix, AZ area) although there are some not so nice homes in the area.

We have the really rich multi-millionaire kids, we have the kids in the middle, we have some poor people. We have people that come from all aspect of life as you would expect from a school with 400+ kids in a grade.

My School Is Pretty Safe One Guy had gone to Jail Last Year For reasons i dont like to talk about but... other than thats its safe

I'll assume most of you are in high school, so I'd think think they're pretty safe since they have become miniature prisons. Of course they cannot catch everything but people shouldn't be expecting random bullets flying over their heads...that's just being too paranoid.

My schools security wasn't so great last year, i'm hoping when we go back Wednesday they will have improved it. A lot of violent fights have been reduced due to the removal of our break, which was the time when those fights would break out. We have more than 1 cop on campus, one in our senior parking lot, staff lot, and the stadium. We're down the road from a jail... imagine that.
