Ok, this ride will open in a few months and there is almost no news! Where are all the great Disney spies out there??

The building really looks great. My only problem is the fact that it's in Tomorrowland. Still, this looks like it should be impressive.

Well, to TDR's benefit, most everything they do is impressive.

As for us the "spies"...well some of us have been keeping our eyes on this situation, but they (OLC) is keeping a tight lid on this ride.. but sooner or later, things will start leaking out, so patience my children. But I will say this much.. I do like how Sully and Boo pop out of the floor at one point in the ride..

the ride should have been in fantasyland... or in the dicovery area of TDS. a futuristic building does not make a futuristic ride

Agreed. While I look forward to this unique, big budgeted ride and highly themed ride, the location is less than ideal.

Personally, I can't imagine Ride and Go Seek in Port Discovery or in the other areas of TDS since the concept of the attraction doesn't seem to fit with the theming at TDS. I can see how the other new attraction, Turtle Talk, fits into the theming of TDS, even though I'm not a fan of it.

As for Ride and Go Seek at TDL, I have a hard time placing it anywhere but Tomorrowland. It definitely wouldn't fit in Adventureland, Westernland, Critter Country, or Toontown ... that leaves Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. Based on the TDL attractions already at those two lands (mainly Astro Blasters), I would chose Tomorrowland, but I can see how Fantasyland would have worked, too. For OLC, I'm assuming it had more to do with the extra space from closed attractions (Meet the World , which I missed since my first time at the park was Halloween 2003).

Tomorrowland seems like a good enough place for it to me as well. There's just something about it that seems SciFi to me, more so than other Pixar properties.

Why not put it in Toon Town?

That is the last place it belongs. Overall Tomorrowland is the most fitting place. It doesn't really fit in Fantasyland.

Well if you believe some of the old rumors, Monster's Inc was to be the start of a Hollywoodland that would bridge World Bazzar & Tomorrowland. I don't think anything else was planned or could fit in there (attraction-wise)...and how true that rumor was...I don't know. But it was rumored, kinda the way Disneyland was going to add a Hollywoodland back in the early 90s.

I also do not think it would have fit in any other land except maybe fantasland if the building had a diferent theming.
My guess is that they picked tomorrowland because of space and because of the direction that tomorrowland will be taking in the future.

The land is going to be a more fantasy based future world with properties like buzz lightyear, monsters Inc, and wall-e. I see Tokyo taking a similiar aproach as Hong Kong. The land will have a cartoony futuristic feel when its all redone.

so perhaps there will be a sci-fi city after all in TDL
tomorrowland in hkdl looks a bit like a low budget version of sci-fi city

For me the location makes perfect sense because you start out with World Bazaar which is like an old fashioned town then move into Monsters Inc which is a city which then leads to futuristic tomorrowland. Either way can't wait until it opens! The lottery for the Funderful members is over so good luck to everyone who entered!

Monsters Inc. CM previews are well underway already. Initial reports online have ranged from "so-so" to "lots of fun!" At least one Hidden Mickey and Hidden Nemo have been spotted during the ride.
