    Just Back From Tokyo Disney

This Is My First Post Ever On Any Forum. However, I Did Use These Forums For My Planning And Decided To Share A Little Info. If Anyone Has Anyquestion Please Feel Free To Ask.
I Was At Tdl And Tds Jan 19-23, 2009. If You Are Wanting To Plan A Trip To Tokyo, This Is Perfect. We Had No Crowds At All. Even The Top Attractions We Could Ride Immediately Again On Jan 20-21 (tuesday And Wednesday) And On Thursday, The Top Attractions May Have Had A 10-15 Min Wait. I Know That Tdr Is Extremely Busy Most Of The Year. I Hope This Helps. I Am Already Planning Another Trip Next January.
Oh - We Stayed At The Sheraton Grande - It Is Right Across The Street From The Monorail Station "bayside" And In My Opinion Was Just As Convenient As A Disney Hotel.

Absolutely!! Looking forward to visiting there again.
The Japanese people were wonderful, and the cast members there, in my opinion, go way above and beyond.

Schedule meets in two years? Excuse moi but TDR fan meets are occuring monthly. Maybe you need to get to TDR more often? next one is happening on the 14th feb, valentines day.

the cast members there, in my opinion, go way above and beyond.
No truer words were ever written. The TDR cast is the absolute BEST!

Re: Just Back From Tokyo Disney

We're a family of five headed over on May 24-Jun 4th.
(my 3 girls are adults now though).

We are staying in Tokyo for 4 days--then headed over to Disneyland for the rest of our trip.

I've got the Sheraton Grande booked for our rooms--and it's nice to hear that you thought that hotel was convienient.

Anything special I should know about before we head over? How did you purchase your tickets? At the Sheraton--or at the Welcome Ctr?
I see on the TDL site that you can now purchase (you print out vouchers to be exchanged at the Welcome Ctr)--and am debating whether to do that or just purchase at the hotel.

Re: Just Back From Tokyo Disney

There is a Disney ticket counter right next to the hotel's check in desk. I've always purchased my tickets there and the staff has always been very helpful.

The Shearton is very nice although its layout is a bit sprawling. There is a "retail corridor" on the lobby floor that has a Disney store, a bakery and other shops. Use the lobby floor if you are going to walk to the Bayside Monorail station.

Downstairs is mostly access for the convention areas, but it's also where you will find the bus stops - for both the Disney Resort Line and for the airport shuttle. The Disney busses are works of art and are great for the two minute trip to the monorail station if it's raining. You'll also find the glassed in walkway to the hotel's sundries shop on the lower level.

One last thing, the monorail only goes in one direction. The first stop is Tokyo DisneySea (about five minutes). The last stop is Tokyo Disneyland, so plan accordingly. Tokyo's monorail is fantastic.

Wow--Thank you for the great advice!!

I will wait to buy my tickets once we get to the hotel--vs paying online and printing vouchers.

After reading your review--and a few others, I feel very good about the hotel I have booked. I think it will work well for the 5 of us.

This is my big 5-0 birthday trip--so I am very jazzed about going there!

If you're staying at the Sheraton, there's no advantage to buying the tickets in advance, and in fact just adds steps. All guests registered to the room are guaranteed the ability to buy park tickets for the length of stay even on "sold out" days, so even if you're staying during a busy period, there's no need to get date-specific tickets in advance.
