RIDE: Around the World in Eight Minutes

After coming back from Tokyo DisneySea and loving the Mysterious Island land and the Jules Verne relationship to his books. I have another ride that they possibly could add. I know there are rumors about Soarin over California at TDS but how about Around the World in Eight Minutes like another Jules Verne book Around the World in Eighty Days.

Here is my ride concept:
QUE:
You first go through the que to get to the loading zone. The que would include artifacts from around the world, postcards, compasses, and items related to traveling.

Then you enter your 6 person ride vehicle that would be mini forms of transportation. The ride vehicles would look like cars, hot air balloons, trains, ships, and subs.

RIDE:
The ride will be trackless from the same concept of PHH and Aquatopia. The ride vehicles would start you at London where you would see London Bridge, Big Ben, London Eye, and other famous tourist spots in London. You will then head into another room making your journey from London to Sueza, Egypt. Along the way you see the Eifel Tower, Matterhorn, Roman Colisuem, and finally the Great Pyramids. While passing the Great Pyramids, you almost get attacked by mummies and you hurry to your destination point. After Sueza, you make you journey to Mumbai in india. You pass other great monuments such as Taj mahal. After Mumbai, you head towards Calcutta which is also in india. After Calcutta you make your way to hong Kong. After entering the Hong Kong room you see the Great Budda from a distance and famous landmarks. After Hong Kong, you then head towards Yokohama near Tokyo and see the TDR from a distance and tokyo Tower and Mt. Fuji. While leaving Yokohama, Godzilla appears trying to get your vehicle and you shoot him to send him back to the depths of Tokyo Bay. After Yokohama, you make your way to your next destination to San Francisco. In San Francisco, you see the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, and you also nearly escape the Big One(Earthquake). After nearly escaping the Big One, you finally make it your final destination and starting point London. On your way to London, you see from the depths of the ocean the remains of the Titanic and also nearly missing your own iceberg. When you arrive in London, you are congratulated for becoming the first people to go around the world in Eight Minutes.

THEME:
Would be similar to a cross-version of JTCOE and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Each ride vehicle would have its own unique style. For example, the subs would be similar to 20,000 Leagues, but when they have to go over land, the rise to the surface and 4X4 wheels come from the sides of the sub. The cars would look like regular 4X4 off road vehicles, but when they have to go over water they are able to transform into the car that drives on water. The train would be simliar but it will a steam engine and it would also transform like the 4X4 vehicle. The theme will also be very top of the line.

Re: RIDE: Around the World in Eight Minutes

There are too many vehicles. Why would be in a submarine that flies over London?

Which should have been at EPCOT a long time ago, but nooooooooo, they didn't want to spend money making a new film for that clone.

Re: RIDE: Around the World in Eight Minutes

There are so many ways that Soarin could be fit into TDS

* a "Leonardo Flying Machine" ride for Porto Paradiso, as was suggested some time back OR

* a 19th century Vernian ride (which would go along w/ what the OP said) for American Harbour, perhaps fronted by a blimp, like the one in DLP's Discoveryland OR

* an Aladdin flying carpet ride for Arabain Coast OR

* an "Up" inspired ride for Lost River Delta (the landscape in the upcoming film is inspired by the landscape of Venezuela's Canaima National Park, and lost River Delta has a Mesoamerican setting...pretty close)

or just plain old Soarin, perhaps in place of Autopia at TDL (since there is no space left in Tomorrowland...though I'm not saying that I think Autopia is going anywhere).

Tomorrowland can be expanded into the parking lot behind it... but they would have to add a DL-style parking garage to compensate for the loss of parking space.

Isn't there already a time traveling attraction in WDW? Or did they shut that down perminately this time? My memory seems to be fading.

Re: RIDE: Around the World in Eight Minutes

The time machine attraction was the old circle vision movie at the MK, TimeKeeper. (formerly known as Visionarium at DLP and TDL). Yes, it was shut down for the lame Monsters Inc Comedy Laugh Club.

Re: RIDE: Around the World in Eight Minutes

And in turn that theater had been the home for a CircleVision 360 movie called 'Magic Carpet Around the World'. The film was just as you imagined - a 360 movie from different places around the globe circa mid 1970's. And don't forget 'If You Had Wings' took us through all the great world-wide tourists destinations (provided you could get there via Eastern Airlines).

You mean AQUAtopia? Yes, it does have rocks in it.

As for room, there is an entire section of the park undeveloped between Port Discovery and Lost River Delta, big enough to accomodate a big e-ticket.
