New costumes for Spring Carnival

Mickey and Minnie are getting new costumes for Spring Carnival this year. I never liked Mickeys costume so I'm really happy about it!

Thanks for posting this ichigopara! I like Mickey's costume a lot better. For him especially, it looks like he has a bit more of a Carnival type costume instead of the floral Spring from the previous years.

For those who couldn't read the Japanese on the TDR News website, this also confirms that Tinker Bell and her friends are going to have some part in the event since they are all on the poster!

Hmm I wonder who's idea it was to use the Disney Fairies for this TDS Event. Sounds like one giant excuse to push the brand further in Japan. The main Disney site also has dedicated its main page to the Pixie Hollow subsite this Weekend!

C'mon Malin, who do you think pushes OLC to do anything regarding cross promotion in TDR? WDC of course! They want OLC to operate their parks in the same sick manner they operate the other resorts!!!

I take it you're talking about the Pixie meet and greet at WDW, TDLFAN? Because the one here in DL is great and is in no way substandard. Lasseter and the crew have made sure of that and we didn't get a lame budget like Florida did. Not everything that's outside of Tokyo is crap.

I find Disneyland to be my favorite Magic Kingdom style park, although Paris has my favorite castle. I really like TDL, but it doesn't feel the same to me. That's just me probably, I love Pooh and friendliness of the CMs. TDS is my second fav after DL, btw. I love it and was one of the original supporters back in the 90's of its inspiration Port Disney. Sadly, Japan got what we missed out on because of red tape from the Coastal Commision, Sierra Club and others. That said, I don't want to paint WDC with the same brush as during Eisner's last decade. Iger seems to get it and we're finally getting some nice stuff. With Tokyo sized budgets I might add.

That is correct. DL usually have a higher standard of show when compared to WDW's MK. So my comparison is in regards to the WDW Pixie Hollow, which I find to be just a regular photo room after a long hall. DL does things in a much nicer scale and that is why I always give DL very high marks..and find it as lovely a park as TDL.

I'm pretty sure the Fairies will be in the Spring Carnival show. I'm hoping they have them flying over the water, although I'm not sure how that would/could be done.

The DisneyFan magazine that just came out confirms there will be a greeting with the fairies in Lost River Delta two small atmosphere performances at Mediterranean Harbor and Waterfront Park in addition to the Fairy Primavera show which will be twice daily.

Just so you know, the Paradise Pier makeover is coming along quite well and despite all the chaos with the walls and construction, it's going to look much nicer by this time next year. I'm not one of these people that are going to expect it'll be as good as TDS, but by the time it's done there shouldn't be too many complaints. It'll be a great park.

Now, if Lasseter can keep making films that make lots of money then by the time they build a third park we should actually get a great one from Day One. Just like TDS. Thanks to him the TLC that DCA needs is happening, albiet slower than we all want.

Does anyone know when they start building the Midway Mania ride in the American Waterfront section. I remember reading about it coming to TDS over at Blue Sky Disney, but don't remember a starting date.

For the record, I have always enjoyed DCA for what it is, and while I felt there was room for improvement, I am quite happy to see the company investing into it. I look forward to see all of DLR sometime soon.

I however wonder why they are putting the Fairies meet and greet in Lost River Delta..
