    Question Hotel Question

    Hey everyone,

I'm planning another trip to Tokyo and this time I'm going to be joined by at least two friends, maybe more. The plan is to stay in Triple Rooms at the Ambassador and Hotel MiraCosta and a Junior Family Room at the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel. I'm having trouble determining, however, how many adults can sleep in a Triple Room. The "bedshare" rules seem to indicate that two adults can't share a regular-sized bed, and the Triple Rooms don't come with trundle beds, so you could get no more than three adults in there. Is that an enforced rule, an unenforced rule, or just a suggestion?

If only three of us go, it won't be a problem to use a Standard Room with a trundle bed, right? And if four or five go, could we use a Triple Room? If not, the only way to go seems to be to stay at the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel the whole time or to get two rooms at the other hotels. So can anyone help out? I wish the English web site was more clear about this...

    Re: Hotel Question

As far as I know, the triple room contains either 3 small beds (around the equivalent of twin size) or two of those with a pull out bed. But based on what I have been told before, and you may be able to get a better answer on this.. only 3 adults can sleep in the triple. More than that will probably be tight quarters..

JoeInJpn has stayed at all hotels and knows better about this... so if he does not post here, send him a PM.

    Re: Hotel Question

Basically what TDLFAN wrote, up to three adults can stay at the quoted price for the room you stated. For an extra bed, it costs an additional 6,000yen.

    Re: Hotel Question

Thanks Joe.. So it is possible to have additional guests in a triple room, as long as you pay for the extra bed. I assume it would be one of those not so wonderful portable bed? Is this worth it? How about the space? Don't you think it would be a bit tight quarters for more than 3 adults sharing? More importantly, why can they stay at the TDL Hotel so I can come over and crash with them? LOL

    Re: Hotel Question

Thanks, TDLFAN. That's my exact follow-up. I'll be the guy who sleeps in the extra bed if we have to get one, just so we can stay in all three hotels. But can we do that in a Triple Room? And even if we can, would we be reaching claustrophobic conditions at that point?

Also, can anyone think of any other solutions besides getting a suite? That would be too expensive, I think, even split five ways. I'd like for my friends who've never been to experience all three hotels, plus I'm staying more than five days, so we'll have to move out anyway.

Thanks again for the help, guys!

    Re: Hotel Question

The hotels at TDR are very pricey.. I think trying to experience all three hotels would be a mjor drain in yoour pocket, but if you can affort it.. go for it. Besides, you will only be in the room at night to sleep. There is so much to do at TDR, I doubt you will spend a lot of time in your room.
One word of advise... try to use the hotels' pools. The Miracosta pool is stunning, and the Ambassador is very artdeco classic with dolphin statues and such. TDHL's pool is themed to Peter Pan.

    Re: Hotel Question

It is pretty pricey. That's why it's better for us to spend most of the time at the Ambassador and only one night each in the other two.

I didn't get to check out the pools last time we went, so I'd definitely love to do it this time! Thanks for the tip!

    Re: Hotel Question

I think you'll detract from your trip with all that checking out and checking in. You'll be quite happy at the Ambassador: it's more intimate and "warmer." I would pick one hotel and stay there for the whole trip.

TDLFAN says you'll never spend any time in your room, however if you're on line at 8am, you should definitely take a break for an hour or two at about 3:30, then return to the parks after that.

If you are really never in your room except to sleep, then why bother paying the extra for the Disney hotels? Stay in the Hilton Tokyo Bay, which is on the monorail line. I just got back--stayed there five nights at 23,000 yen per night (about $230). The staff is great and the rooms are enormous compared to the Disney hotels (I always stay in a twin ocean room).

I recommend the Sheraton Grande instead. The Hilton is so.. blah! Plus the Sheraton is closer to the monorail station.

Ah, but it costs more. Less money for trinkets.

    Re: Hotel Question

We just stayed at the Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay and loved it. We were close to the Bayside Station on the monorail line, our room was absolutely huge, and we had an awesome view of Disneyland. The service was top-notch, too. We only paid 16,833 yen per night, which is about $175.

I am certain the Hilton is also a fantastic hotel, but it was more expensive, so we went with the Sheraton and were not disappointed.

LeeLee.. did you play with the remote control that opens and close the rooms curtains? At least that was my favorite gadget when I stayed at the Sheraton.

DOH! We never saw that!!!!! Was it part of that box by the beds that controlled the lights?

They put us on the kiddie floor at the Sheraton, the one decorated with Penton the Penguin. I'll post a picture of the room with my review...I'm still recovering, so it'll take me a few days to get everything together. We took 2,800 photos during our trip, so I need time to sort through them!
