Ask and you shall receive! I've never written a proper trip report and I'm not really sure this is where I'd start. I'll post the photos I took, but I was pretty underwhelmed by the event. It's a greeting, not a parade, and there aren't really a lot of goods. What was available could be seen on the site. I didn't think about taking photos of the merch cos it didn't really "wow" me, although I do like Minnie and Mickey's costumes. If I collected the small plush, I'd've gotten a set. But I don't, so I didn't. Not for myself, anyway.

Here are Chip, Goofy, and the band starting the "parade."




Character mascot fans were excited about the newest "rubberheads" at TDL, Thumper and Miss Bunny!



Along came Pluto...


...to introduce his master (who always seems to smile for whichever side I'm not on)...



...and his lovely lady.


Then came the Ducks!



And the band played us on out...


...And that was it. Blink and you mighta missed it. Still, it's a unique event for just one week, so I really can't complain, I guess. The display in World Bazaar is truly beautiful and it was fun to write my wish (though I forgot to take a photo!).






I especially loved seeing the "Fab 5's" wishes on the tree:




Although I really wish they had included Daisy (she often gets no love!) and thrown in Max to make seven, since that's what Tanabata is all about. Oh well.

Anyway, there's my first attempt at a TR that I'm not personally excited about, but really for the purpose of the MiceChat community. I hope you enjoyed it, and if you have other questions or something, I'll do my best to be helpful.

There was a special wish card you could get for eating in Hokusai, but I couldn't get it because you had to order a set course with LOTS of dead animals and no substitutions. That kinda bummed me out. We were able to download cute wallpaper for our cellphones, though, that looked like the Tanabata art that was on the TDL site. Hope you enjoyed my report!

Thanks for the photos to let us know what went on. Even though it's small, it's nice to see a local event being celebrated. It's not as if the parks are pretending they aren't in Japan. I like these cultural events, and I'm glad HKDL gets into the act as well.

Thanks DuffyDaddy for posting those pics. Isn't it amazing how clean the streets of TDl usually are??? Just look at that street on the photos and compare to WDW's MK...

One of my favorite things about the way they clean up around the parks is when it rains they drag out the giant squeegies ( or whatever they are called) and get rid of any puddles around the park.

You see very little trash anywhere & if you do, it's gone in seconds.

They do maintain high standards as well in the hotels too- I remember one trip waiting for my bus to take me back to the airport- I was standing there for about 15 minutes- the cleaning lady passed me by sweeping or mopping the floor about 3 or 4 times. They don't even give the dust a chance to settle!!

That's pretty good that they even go so far as to get rid of puddles! I've never seen that at the US parks. In fact, I was at Disneyland once after a big rainstorm and there was a huge puddle, not to mention slick pavement between Haunted Mansion and Splash Mountain. I was there with a friend, and he fell down because the ground was too slippery. Nobody was around mopping up puddles there!

I've seen the same at WDW, the puddles, I mean, not the falling down. Especially after one of the usual Florida downpours.

The CMs in Tokyo are out with the squeeges all the time. Lovely to see.
