Do you know if there are special turnstiles for fixed-date passports?

No. Just about *everyone* have fixed dates on their passports.. Just get there very early, because if you do not, you may have to wait in line at the Welcome center to pick up your passport. I believe they usually open an hour before the parks... Again.. GET THERE EARLY.

I thought there were date free tickets too ("open tickets"), as reported here :
"On days of high attendance, Guests holding open tickets may be requested to delay their entry into the Park."
Anyway, I think all I have to do is to get there early

Yes, but you can buy tickets with fixed dates everywhere. Only people with vouchers (like the ones they sell at train stations of convenience stores) are open date tickets.. Most people do go for the fixed dates to make sure they can get into the parks. I however, would have waitind until arriving in Japan to buy. Having to make a line at the Welcome Center is inconvenient IMHO.. If you had mentioned that before, I would have advised against it.

I feared tickets can be sold out when arriving in Japan for the specific dates I chose. Anyway I hope everything will be fine!

Re: Will there be loads of people?

is it really that crowded? on my previous visits i always arrived at 10:00-12:00 and there weren't any big lines at the ticket booth.

There is hardly ever long lines at the ticket booths because most guests do buy ahead of time. Even in the morning before the park opens... there are long lines to enter the park, but you can always walk up to the ticket window and buy your ticket.

BTW Olivier.. even if a date shows "sold out" ahead of time, if you arrive when the ticket windows open an hour before the park, you will still be able to buy a ticket for that day. They only close the ticket windows once the park has reached capacity.. and that usually happens around 11am... If that is the case.. they usually open the ticket booths again around 2-3pm. So there is no need to stress over not getting tickets if you are not able to get them before hand... the trick is to ARRIVE AT THE GATE EARLY ENOUGH!

It IS very busy. The ticket booth lines are always short.

Re: Will there be loads of people?

I've only been there on Oct 31 and a few days in early Nov. I was told Oct 31 was busy at TDL and it was. Playing the fast pass game, having an extra day to get the things you missed, will help.

One thing I noted and maybe someone here has some idea. Their drink sizes were small and I think so were the bottles of water. I found myself ordering more then one drink, due to lines were long. I tried to get the drink with no ice, but it didn't always translate right.

Re: Will there be loads of people?

Yes, the drinks are small & you usually don't get the option of small, med or large- Also, I don't think they have diet soda either since I don't recall seeing any- I stick to the iced tea, but since I have diabetes I try to avoid adding sugar when possible & very few places have sugar substitute- so I carry my own with me. I'm also still trying to figure out that gum syrup- I assume it's a liquid sugar.

I've never tried the no ice bit with them.
