How is this possible? Not that I can say for sure if you're missing anything, but I don't know how you could have avoided it! Do you guys know Power Rangers or Pokemon? I've never actually seen either of those shows either, but I know enough to know I'll never watch Power Rangers and Pikachu is pretty cute. I thought the Sailors were equally inescapable.

Of course, I am royally ticked off they are repeating the same Halloween event at TDL.. Cheapscakes!!!
I guess that is too bad for you, but since "Villains" would be my fantasy theme for TDL Halloween and since I didn't go last year, my excitement balances out your ticked-offedness! How stoked am I to get my dream theme for TDL and TDS's first Halloween for my very first Disney Halloween experience! Plus a Magic Rally shopping campaign that concludes with a Duffy figure!!! Oh...life is good.^^

Re: An Official Halloween 2009 Thread

It's not surprising that Tokyo Disneyland is repeating the same floats in the parade, though with different costumes and different music. They took that part of the budget and used it for DisneySea. If it increases attendance at DisneySea this time of year (it's always pretty empty while TDL is packed) then I think you can expect to see the budget for the event at both parks increase over the next few years.

Re: An Official Halloween 2009 Thread

Since there are lots of clues that they are adding Ursula the sea witch to the parade, any idea if she will be a costume or a puppet/animatronic?

I could imagine a costume like at Disneyland Paris, that one is pretty on-model.

Will one of the villains for last year be gone?

No, not really. I know I detest the stupid Power Rangers. They are "Disney bastard characters", pretty much like anything Star Wars, Muppets, and now the Marvel superheroes.. NRDs if you will. (Not Really Disney)
As for Pokemon.. the only time I have approached that brand is to listen to the legendary and most fabulous DONNA SUMMER singing one of their movie's theme sonf, "Power of One".

It should be, since OLC is catering to the office ladies like you. I just hope you have enough money to make it to the finish line on that stamp set. I mean.. 1,500 yen times.. like 10?

Re: An Official Halloween 2009 Thread

Even if they are doing a re-hash of last year's Halloween event in TDL, it'll be mostly new to me, other than what I've seen online. I hope they do plan on a new score for the parades since I love the variety of music they offer each year. I've already started listening to all the oldies of past TDL Halloween music in my car to get ready for my trip.

I assume they will convert the Maleficent float from last year to Ursula- or re-design some of the others. We'll all know next week- or at least some of us will, since I don't travel with a laptop or other portable internet devices, I'll be out of the loop after today till I get home on 9/13.

They are using different music? Where did you hear that?

Mythica720, they never use the same exact music/arrangement from one year to that next. Also, bits and pieces of the new version can be heard on the official Japanese site.

The Halloween sites for TDL does not play any audio with the flash animation, or is it just me.

The commercial for TDL sounds like it plays the 'Pumpkin Party' song.

Going back and looking at the site I noticed that the Villain Jack-O-Lanterns do not have a Maleficent one, but they do have a Ursula one. I would guess that Maleficent is out and Ursula is in. Maybe Maleficent is at the TDS show.

Which makes little to no sense unless they are using her "I didn't get invited to the party" angle from the movie. If anything, it should be the other way around since Ursula has a bigger presense in TDS than she does in TDL.

Not sure how I missed it, or maybe I have seen it and just don't know it. lol I know of Power Rangers and Pokemon, but not Sailors.

Funny you said Pokemon, my husband flew on a Pokemon plane. I never had heard about a plane but its kind of cool to see. Now where is Mickeys plane? lol

Last I heard, they repainted it for the "Million Dreams" marketing blitz.

I hope it was clear that I wasn't trying to say something was "wrong" with you for not knowing about Sailor Moon. I just meant that, like the Spice Girls*, they were kinda everywhere for a while.

I've seen that Pikachu plane, but never was lucky enough to fly on it. I don't care about Pokemon, but one of my friends in uni gave me a Pikachu plush for Christmas that had light-up cheeks; he was so cute! I think he's still back in the US. I'm curious, Janell, was the interior also themed, or just the exterior paint job? Thanks in advance!

*whom I secretly love!

Re: An Official Halloween 2009 Thread

I don't get any music with the Flash intros either. Never figured that out.

As far as there being new music, I imagine that must be the case because they're selling a new CD. Doing just new music while keeping the parade floats the same might seem like an acceptable compromise (to OLC).

I'm happy that they've got a new cookie at the kiosk in the hub!

No worries, I got what you were saying.

The inside of the Pokemon plane wasn't themed. Just a boring interior. lol

Pikachu plush sounds cute. :-)
