![]() | Re: Halloween Decorations around the Parks! I agree with jedimaster7313, if you go to WDW for the first time it is magical. It is when you go back several times that you see how things could be picked up better or how things over all could be better. I have been then three times now, 2003, 2008, and 2009. The 2003 and 2008 trips were very magical. 2009 was not as magical because we had just been there a year earlier. For me I space it out a bit more. Do note I live close to DLR and go often, so I get my fix there. And I think we end up having favorite parks and just want to go back to them. In 1998 I was at Disneyland Paris and although its different and nice, I don't have a want to go back like I do TDR. Of course I would go if i had the chance, where with Tokyo, I would make the chance to go happen. Funny how that is. WDW I would do every 5 years or so, I love Epcot. The food at WDW is the best I think. My husband might pick Tokyo. lol But DLR forget about it, just a few really good places to eat. I think CM have a lot to do with the magic a guest experience. Im an ex-cm from DL and its not easy work. You have people who are hot(summer time) hungry, tired, spent a lot of money to get there and want to make memories. Not an easy crowd to please, but well worth it if you can. I always enjoyed doing the little extras I could to make it more magical. it was a fun job. Anyhow, TDR cm are amazing, I think. I told people when I came home that it was like DL in the 80's and early 90's. CM happy to be there, willing to help. I didn't speak Japanese and they didn't speak english, but it was still great and so helpful. We go into to shows and they ask what language we spoke and would give us those great machines that translate for you. They were cool. Oh and what I mean about CM from the 80-early 90's. People who were happy to be there, helped, weren't talking to other CM instead of directing traffic down Main Street after fireworks. Yeah just stay put till the stamped goes by or they will scrap you up like gum off the streets at the end of the night. (DL has I think the smallest Main St, Walt had no idea how big of a hit he had on his hands lol) Anyhow, things were better back then for what ever reason and I know training was better back then too. So I don't blame the CM completely. I don't remember much about the CM in Paris. Unfortunately what sticks out in my mind about DLP is two things. One we walked into a restranut when it first opened, ordered, sat down and that table was sticky. They hadn't cleaned it the might before. We tried other tables and same thing. The second thing really bothered me. We went to buy fudge from an outdoor vendor and saw that there was nothing to keep fly out from where the fudge was kept. I saw fly land on the fudge and the CM then served that fudge. Yeah no thanks. I like my fudge with out fly feet please. Its sad that that is what sticks out in my mind about DLP. Well and SM goes upside down. That was cool. :-) |

I'm also concerned that refurbishing Fantasyland alone is not enough. The MK features the worst Tomorrowland, the worst Adventureland, and the worst Frontierland of them all DL parks. Thematically speaking, those areas are as badly outdated as the current fantasyland is.. so what about the west and east side of the park??? How bad will they look when they have to compete with a newly themed Fantasyland? TDS and DLP have set the bar quite high.. and I hope the MK comes up to some of that standard. Fingers crossed.
