Re: An Official Christmas 2009 Thread

I quickly checked the Disney Fan magazine. Usually, there is a picture of the CD with the date. This year, there was a small excerpt at the bottom of the goods page. The Christmas Fantasy 2009 CD is planned to be released on 11/18 according to the Disney Fan magazine. I couldn't find anything about the Harborside Christmas 2009 CD, though.

The Disney Music website has a different date, though. It reports that the Christmas Fantasy 2009 CD will be released on 11/25 and the Harborside Christmas 2009 CD will be released on 11/18.

I'm not sure when it will be released, either =\

Re: An Official Christmas 2009 Thread

Well, the Disney Records site usually lists the nationwide release date. TDR always gets the CD's at least a week early. Maybe those are the dates in Disney Fan?

Question Re: An Official Christmas 2009 Thread

WE are the FINALE!!!^^

The new commercial for Harborside Christmas shows what could be for me the BEST (non-Duffy^^) Christmas merchandise ever!!! A light-up Christmas tree wand we can use to be part of Candlelight Reflections Finale! I don't see this thing in DisneyFAN or on the official site's Goods sections, though, so I'm afraid it might just be for the commercial spot...anybody been to the Resort yet to see if this is a real, purchasable item?

On 11/18, there's a free gift for all those entering TDS. The free gift is a lights-up item. I have my doubt that it's the light-up wand, though. I have no further leads than that.

We just bought one tonight! It's for sale in the park for 1900 yen.

I just read your post Ichigopara right after watching the commercial- so I'll be picking up mine next week- I'll be there in a few days. Hope you're feeling better.

I'm so happy!!! From the moment I first saw BraviSEAmo! (11/10/2008), with everyone gathered around Mediterranean Harbor...and then even more when I felt the energy rise and move as I experienced Mythica for the first time, I have been convinced that there should be some kind of merchandise item to connect all those people - to make that togetherness of shared experience really what the show is all about. What a perfect circle for my first year of Disney! Thank you, TDL! And thanks to this wonderful MiceChat community, too!

Bonfire Dance was close, especially with the costumes this year. And the masks at Halloween could've been great, but most Guests did not wear them all the time, and even those who did usually wore them more as a hair accessory than a mask. Honestly, I think they weren't marketed properly or integrated effectively into the event or its promotion. This light, though, especially with the commercial - I think everyone will do it. It's gonna be such a great feeling of community and connection! I can't wait! I can't believe I forgot to take the day off work on 11/10 and I'll have to wait until 11/14! Ichigo, you guys better be there next Saturday night! I'll see you for sure, right, Jedimaster?^^

Re: An Official Christmas 2009 Thread

I'm sitting in my office right now only a few blocks away from the NY Yankees ticker tape parade & can't leave to go see it- but, yes DuffyDad I will see you Tuesday morning at Disneyland- send me an email of where's best to meet.

I'm looking forward to seeing you as well Ichigopara & family- I hope the rain holds off, I keep looking- one day it says showers all week, the next day it claims cloudy- but now it's back to showers- so I really hope not.

I've got to get one of those tree lights & all the other great things for Christmas this year- just one really long dreaded flight to go.

TDLFAN is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: An Official Christmas 2009 Thread

I can't wait to hit the TDR this coming week and spend, spend, spend. I wish I could feel the same excitement for WDW's xmas merchandise, which so far, is the same crap they could not sell last year sitting on the shelves again. Shame WDW.

This actually made me laugh out loud. At this point, I'm probably never going there, y'know. I know! They should import the leftovers from TDR Christmas!! Oh wait...that'd only be like five things. Are you gonna be in town Tuesday morning, too, TDLFAN?

Well, I hope for your sake, that the weather is better next week. I know you got rained out most of your Halloween trip. Maybe the forecast will change again, I never trust them this far out.

Well, they did try to import some Christmas stuff from TDR last year, but only the snowmice. Even then, they took the quality down a notch. Judging by what TDLFAN says, I wouldn't be surprised to see the exact same ones again this year. Yes, TDL has them again too, but they are different each year at least.

That was my beef with both Disneyland and Walt Disney World this Halloween too. The merchandise was the same as last year's, only with "2009" printed on it. And, from what I've seen, the Christmas stuff is the same too...only with the new date.

DuffyDad, I would say you should still go visit WDW and DL if you ever get the chance. Especially DL, since it's the original, and has quite a lot of stuff crammed into a much smaller space. Just don't worry about buying anything, since nothing would be that interesting...at least your wallet would be happier!

Not that you were going to, but don't waste your time coming to DLR, same stuff as last year. And my best guess its the same stuff they have at WDW.

Have a great time on your trip. :-)

Im with you on this one. Why does DLR and WDW do this to themselves. I remember back in the 80-90's I use to be able to do christmas shopping at DL. And get great items. Now like you said its just the same old stuff with a new year on it. Sad, DL would get a lot more of my money if they had better, new things.

Duffysdad, I would to suggest seeing the other Disneyland parks. TDR is still the best IMO. But they are all different, like DL is the only park to date that has the Matterhorn and I think its the only park with New Orlands Square, which I love decorated during the holidays. Very cheery area. I would take the Walk in Walts Footstep tour for the history. There is other things too that are good. You would love Napa Rose is you are into fine dinning. WDW is cool in its own way. Well worth one or two trips. Paris, their Space Mt goes upside down, now that is cool. Their Big Thunder Mt goes under the River, so that is cool. Hong Kong, I haven't done it yet. lol Nor have I done Paris Studios.

Others can correct me, but I think with your love of TDR, if you spent one day in all the other parks, it wouldn't be a waste of your time. It would confirm you love of TDR. :-)

Sorry off topic. Back to good holiday shopping at TDR. :-)
