One Day / One Park- Which one?

Hi...going to Tokyo this summer and we have 1 day to do disneyland...goto the original DL several times a month, and have been to WDW several times. So that being said, should I goto Tokyo DL or Disneysea's? Pro/cons? What do you think is one of the best place to eat inside the parks? yada, yada, yada...Need your help please!

Tokyo DisneySea. It has much more rides and attractions that are completely exclusive to Tokyo.

Tokyo DisneySEA hands down. Most unique and amazing of all Disney parks there ever was.

Thumbs up Re: One Day / One Park- Which one?

Yeah, there's really no debate here. If you can only do one, do DisneySEA. If you only had two days, still I'd say two days at DisneySEA. It's so different from Disneyland, and from what I gather, different from any other theme park. Tokyo Disneyland is charming for people who want Disneyland without going to America. Tokyo DisneySEA is just an incredible space, unique both in its Japanese expression of Disney, and its own artistic sense of place.

Definately TDS! It's such a beautiful park and has better restaurants than TDL. Like ICe101 said it has more attractions that are unique to that park not to mention the great shows. The summer events there are super fun too! Hope you have a great time!

While I've never been to eaither, my vote would definately be DisneySea. This is the one place in the world you will find this. I understand that there is a temptation to visit the flagship park, but in this situation (unlike Paris, Anehiem, Orlando, or Hong kong) the second park is much more of an equal (and arguably better) than the Magic Kingdom park. Once again, just second hand....but thats what I would do.

DisneySea is definately in my bucket list

With only one day I go with TDS. TDL is a mix of DL and MK. So you wont miss much by not going to TDL. But you will miss a lot if you don't go to TDS. Its the best park out there right now. So much to see and take in.

Be there at opening and plan to take breaks inside the park. I suggest taking a break and sitting in each port if you can. That way you rest and really get a chance to look around and take it all in. There is so much detail in the park that if you just run from attraction to attraction, you may miss the parks beauty.

Take in all the shows you can, they are wonderful. The food is great and the CM are really nice.

I was able to visit TSD last week for the first time and was really impressed. In addition to many unique attractions, they have several show attractions (Magic Lamp Theater, Under the Sea, Big Band Beat, etc.) that are extremely good, even in Japanese (and it may be possible for you to get a CM to get English subtitles on some). Also the theming is just spectacular. So in my opinion, no question here that TSD is the choice.

With only one day (what a shame!) you must go to Tokyo DisneySea.

Make sure you're online at the gate at least 30 minutes before opening.

TDS, TDL offers a lot of originality- but most stems from other Disneyland-style parks. TDS offers everything and most is exclusive to Tokyo's resort. Hope you have a great time at whichever one you choose!

No question Hands Down, TDL no kidding, Tokyo Disney Sea... The only thing really TDL has that disneyland in cali doesnt have is Poohs Hunny Hunt that is the most unique difference. Tokyo Disney Sea is a truly a gem and you should get to the park early (people line up hours before park opens to be the first one in)and stay late. Dont Forget to shop throughout the day.. TDS closes the doors to its shops right as the park closes, no grace period... Even Tower of Terror and Indiana Jones while some may consider clones to the california counterparts has a very unique twist on each... Definitely cant miss.. and most importantly take lots of pictures have fun and report back to micechat!

I don't think that's true. I might be wrong, but I think rides close at 9 or 10, while shops - at least around Mediterranean Harbor - close at 10 or 11, an hour after rides... If I'm wrong, please correct me, but I'm pretty sure at least Bon Voyage is also open an hour after parks' closing.

The shops don't all actually close at park closing- Yes, the ones around inside the park do close within minutes of park closing, but the ones closest to the exit don't really close their doors till roughly 15-20 minutes after park closing.

They don't put out those shopping inside, but they will not allow new guests in once the doors close. They do make some announcements about 1/2 hour after closing- but I don't speak Japanese, so I have no idea what they are saying. They sort of begin closing the registers in the main shop, but cycle the guests thru to the candy shops & out the door.

But it is still best to purchase what you really want during the day in the different areas around the park, since the main shops don't always carry everything - so you don't want to miss out.
