    Late flight in and transfers

We'll be arriving at 8:05pm into Narita, long after the final Limousine bus has left for the Disney area. We'll be staying at the Hilton Tokyo Bay and would like to know the easiest way for us to get to the hotel at this time of the evening since we'll be traveling with a 3 year old and a 1 year old. We liked the NEX last time we were there, but the connections out to Maihama might be too much for us with the kiddies in tow.

Re: Late flight in and transfers

    Let's compare using a train-taxi combination:

    OPTION 1:
Using NEX: Narita Airport to Tokyo Station, followed by taxi to TDR:
2940yen per adult (children free) (53min)

Taxi from Tokyo Station to Hotel
    6000yen (40min)

    TOTAL: Approx 12,000yen and 90min.

    OPTION 2a & 2b:
Narita Airport to Keisei-Funabashi Station via Keisei Line:

    Using Skyliner (35min):
    1220yen per adult (children free)

    OR using Limited Express (43min):
    720yen per adult (children free)

Then taking a taxi from Keisei-Funabashi to Hotel:
    5500yen (20-25min)

    TOTAL: Approx 7000-8000yen and 60-75min

Joe, I gather from your answer that all the Airport Limousine busses to even the nearby partner hotels have stopped running by that time?

Re: Late flight in and transfers

    Good question Fukai!

The last Airport Limousine Bus for the TDR area leaves Narita just after 5pm each day.

HOWEVER.... the last bus to the Shin-Urayasu area hotels depart the terminals at 8:30pm!!

For Mellywil's group, since the flight arrives around 8:00pm, there is a very slight chance in making that last bus.

If that's the case, then the cost/time numbers are:

    OPTION C:
    Using Airport Limousine Bus:

Narita Airport to Oriental Hotel at Shin-Urayasu (75-95min):
2700yen per adult , 1350yen for one child (1-year-old is free)

Taxi from Oriental Hotel to TDR (5-7min):
    1000-1200yen

    TOTAL: 8000yen and 90-100min

Thanks again Joe, the Bus to the Oriental would be preferable, but with the kids, I think we will need a miracle to make it out of the terminal on time. Your information is fantastic though, I've saved it to take with us.

Sorry to be a pain Joe, but I've just thought of something else. What are the child car seat laws on Japan? Will the taxi need to have them for us? I don't know if I'm comfortable traveling in a car without restraints for my boys

Re: Late flight in and transfers

I have used tokyoairporter.com for a privet car(mine was a van) from Narta to the Disney Resort. Its not cheap at the time it was 18,000 yen. There are other ways to do it cheaper. I can say this was supper easy and after a long flight it was nice. They have the driver waiting for you once you are through customs, picking up your luggage(mine was close to where you can get the cell phone rentals) Anyhow, he was standing there with a sign with my name on it. He spoke very good english. There were times he didn't understand me while we chatted on the way in, but I found other words to use and he understood. He took my luggage and was very very helpful. So many be with two little ones this could be a useful thing. Not sure.

Re: Late flight in and transfers

Janell, it's funny you mention that website because it's been recommended to me by somebody else as well. We were trying to keep this trip on a budget, but we kinda blew it out by booking our last night at the MiraCosta anyway, so we might end up using the airporter service for the convenience.
    Thanks!

Re: Late flight in and transfers

I found it really nice after a long flight. Very friendly driver. And with little ones, I think I would go this route if I couldn't get the the Limousine Bus. I hope you have a wonderful trip.
