It is a pic I took on Castaway Cay. It is located on one of the shops on the island. It pays tribute to Matt since he was originally head of DCL. Ofcourse I just photoshopped his pic into it. The original sign has a side profile of a sailor. (sort of like the gordens fisherman! LOL!)

Their monorail is cute, doesn't go in the park though. Just zips over parking lots.

You guys trying to take pictures like the natives do with the V-sign, I had no idea whether to or

And, for some reason, aside from the fire-spewin' volcano, DisneySea looks very nice in pictures but doesn't shoot me into orbit over all those tiny little details like it does a lot of people. It's certainly nice when you compare it to what they plopped down in the middle of the DL parking lot, which is what everyone wants to do, but they're never going to make a park like TDS again so comparing is pointless.

Another thing is that I'm jaded from living where I do. This town has been beating Disney at producing intricate details and fronts for over ten years now starting with Treasure Island. So I look at TDS and think, "oh, Disney finally caught up with the casinos."

Speaking of... The Treasure Island Hotel's new look and theme is awful, and their new Pirate Babes show on the Strip is tawdry and simply unwatchable. Bring back the old theme.

Tell me about it. It changed owners and is trying to be a Party Hardy joint instead of the ol' Yo Ho theme. The original developer almost displayed a Walt gene for vision during the 90s, but has now sworn off themes like everyone else.

As far as the "sex it up" remodeling goes, The Mirage is next. It's nightclub is scheduled to open any time now and re-theming the interior and modifications to it's outdoor volcano show will be happening next year. YET ANOTHER CIRQUE SHOW will replace Siegfried & Roy's theater.

Huh interesting. It almost looked like a TDS sign...but with Ouimet I was all confused. Nice though.

I think they are trying to get away from the "family friendly" vibe and be a more adult playground.

At risk of going way too even regulars who hated the kiddos running all over the place think that the new Spring Break version of Treasure Island sucks. Whoever did it equated "making it more adult" with "removing everything related to a pirate ever", getting rid of all the immersion and sense of place.

There's a vast difference between the "Wizard of Oz" era MGM Grand (hideous!!!!) and Treasure Island pre-refurb. That and the outdoor show was still packing them in every night, and reinventing the wheel was needless and stupid.
