Firstly, I must say, Tokyo Disneyland is an absolutely fantastic place! I adored it! I fear we may be spoiled when we leave Japan. I was astounded several times by the quality of it all! The cast members are super friendly and always willing to lend a helping hand. And the park is so clean! We've been in Japan since January and the level of cleanliness in this country still makes an impression on me. It's something I will miss when it's time for us to move to our next installation.
Now, for my very first trip report (ever)!
US: Papa Bear, Mama(moi), and baby W (22 months).
THE DEAL: Our son's first trip!
THE PLAN: I only had a few things that I definitely wanted to do: Monsters Inc. ride, Pooh's Hunny Hunt, Haunted Mansion, and have my son meet the mouse! I'm happy to say that we did it all plus more and made it out alive!
THE REPORT: I had signed the 3 of us up for a bus trip to TDL that the base travel office was offering. We left at the crack of dawn and arrived at the park about 15 minutes before it opened. I am still amazed about the free for all with the characters! Holy cow! I felt bad for them! After gawking at the character mobbing we went and got fastpasses for Monsters Inc. Ride and Go Seek. We shuffled around the Main Street Bazaar and got some photos in front of the castle - pretty standard stuff. We did the Snow White ride first, then my son spotted Dumbo. I snagged a spot to watch the morning christmas parade while Papa Bear took the munchkin on. I thought the parade was great! I really liked the music! And the Jubilation parade was even better! I was very impressed! Pooh's Hunny Hunt was a-mazing. I loved every second of it. And we would have rode it again if half the park wasn't in line We did however, wait the agonizing 90ish minutes to meet Mickey, but the running hug/tackle the W did when he caught sight of those big ears was well worth it! We did dinner afterwards, did our fast pass time for Monsters Inc (which I thought was quite fun!), did some other rides, and then it was time for the Electrical Parade. My little guy was completely enthralled by it! He was pointing and yelling and clapping - totally into it!
The expressions on my son's face as took it all in was priceless. Is there anything better than the look of awe and wonder in a child's eyes?
Now for some pictures!
I couldn't help but compare the former Beast to Billy Ray Cyrus...
My son's favorite =]
I loved that Tigger jumped all around on the float!
Riding the teacups!
Meeting the mouse! W was super excited, he almost bowled Mickey over =]
W and his bucket 'o' popcorn!
The Nightmare Before Christmas theme on the Haunted Mansion really blew us away. It even impressed my grumpy husband!
And then it was time to say goodbye and good night!
All in all it was a GREAT day and I can't wait till we can go back again!
