I would hate to visit in January

    Per Screamscape's Rehab Schedule:

The following attractions are all closed during this time:

    Swiss Family Treehouse
    - 1/4/11 through 3/25/11
    Haunted Mansion - 1/6/11 through 1/19/11
    StarJets - 1/6/11 through 3/18/11
    Chip ‘n Dale’s Treehouse - 1/11/11 through 1/24/11
    Donald’s Boat - 1/11/11 through 1/24/11
    Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters - 1/11/11 through 1/25/11
    Gadget’s Go Coaster - 1/11/11 through 4/1/11
    Peter Pan - 1/1/11 through 3/1/11
    Snow White - 1/11/11 through 3/1/11

I would not want to pay a full price ticket for all these shuttered facades.

Peter Pan and Snow White down at the same time seems the biggest loss from an american standpoint. Not sure how appreciated the rides are out there with so many other great ones to choose from. As for all the others, ya there's about a week there it would suck but other than HM and Buzz Lightyear none of the others are a severe loss and those are brief :P

Upon realizing I've never actually watched video of tokyo's peter pan ride, I just did. And eww it's a copy of MK's. The effects are nicer and they have the audio turned up but I can't stand the quiet subdued soundtrack of MK's version compared to the adventurous feel of Disneyland's. They'd do well to swap out soundtracks

Tdl has no problem closing down even the most popular attractions during peak times but since alot of these attractions are complimentary attractions and not main ones minus buzz and haunted its not a big issue , If you plan it after January 25th Its really just Snow white, Peter Pan,Gadgets Go coaster, Star Jets, and Swiss Family. Not a big issue to skip a vacation.

I'm planning an early February trip so no Pan and White is disappointing. The dark rides are my favorite part of the Disney experience.

This is NO surprise for those of us old timer TDR-veterans. Once New year"s Holidays end, this is the only slow season TDL sees in the entire year. So it is the time to refurbish and improve things. And frankly? I very much appreciate they do that. Simply because I know OLC will not let the park get run down and the rides go broken as is the case with the WDW and DLP parks.

Besides.. there is SO SO MUCH more to do at TDL that even with those attractions out of commission, there will be plenty to do to fill an entire day there.. So let's not whine about what the WDC should be doing at their US, Paris parks and be greatful OLC still cares about making sure guests receive the upmost quality in theme and show.

@Almandot, there is short preview videos of most rides in the park, including Peter Pan's, in the official TDR website, in the "TV" page. Go check it out.

honestly many of those are such minor attractions, it is not like they are closing 4 "E Ticket" rides.

We were sent over there with the message that only we would defend Disney quality.. We learnt quickly that the Japanese culture speaks to a level of quality that is hard to comprehend. They were all unbelievably skilled and willing to do the right thing.

The thing is.. TDR is of such high quality that even the small attractions must be done to compare with the puny versions we have in the US. Besides... I can tell you this much.. 98.4% of TDL guests during that time will be in line for Mickey's Philharmagic. So all of the other rides will have minimal wait times.

As TDRFAN says, be glad they close the attractions for rehabs so frequently. There's a huge difference between riding Pirates or Splash Mountain in Tokyo Disneyland and their counterparts at the American parks, where you will find numerous figures not working (and in some cases missing altogether!).

I would honestly be very happy with that refurbishment schedule. Ok the Haunted Mansion is a bit of a let down. But the rest of the attractions would hardly ruin the trip for me. I would be far more angry if Splash, POTC, Monsters, Big Thunder, Pooh or several other attractions were closed instead. This is such a minor problem that I may consider a January trip perhaps.
