    Re: Mickey's Philharmagic Discussion Thread!

So is anyone attending the park tomorrow for the debut?

Some people who have attended the early previews say the show has been dubbed over in Japanese. The website has some images up from the waiting room inside the attraction. The theming looks good and a step up from attractions in Hong Kong and Orlando I would say from what I can see. Some nice display units can also be seen in the room.

Japanese dubbing or not, I really can't wait to check this out in Tokyo.

I like what I see of the waiting area. Very classy looking, and a step up from the 70's decor of Mickey Mouse Revue. I hope it's a hit attraction for the park.

I think the Japanese crowds will enjoy it very much. And it will really help soak up the crowds!

We were sent over there with the message that only we would defend Disney quality.. We learnt quickly that the Japanese culture speaks to a level of quality that is hard to comprehend. They were all unbelievably skilled and willing to do the right thing.

I am at TDL now. 9:26am (park opened at 9:00am, 15 min earlier for hotel guests). Queuing by Star Jets. I think a good 80% of the park guests are in line here. Many attractions are closed this week. As I type this I am in front of Cinderella Fountain. Line is moving well. Just around the corner from attraction entrance. I can hear CMs announcing a 3-hour wait for end of line folks.

^ Thanks for the live update. Looking forward to your assessment of the attraction in comparison to HK & MK (i.e., does it have sharp, clean digital 3-D projection vs. slightly blurred film reels) and the crowd reaction.

When we went to see this in HK it looked blurred but today the video was sharp and crisp! Very nice quality and the queue is gorgeous!

On my way to work now after watching the show twice this morning (the second time thanks to Ichigopara). It was a great presentation with a colorful entrance hall, beautifully decorated lobby and clear, crisp widescreen. Ichigopara can go into the details and comparison with the other versions (I am too lazy.). Merchandise was cute especially the popcorn bucket. A set of pins and the CD are also on sale in the new shop. Attraction video will be on YouTube by tonight (TDL time, early morning UDT).

You know thinking about it there was one effect missing. In the Little Mermaid section there is supposed to be bubbles right? I think it's because there has been complaints of the bubbles staining clothes and that's the reason why. It's also the reason for the paper snow during Christmas BBB! since that show used to use bubbles too. But I'm too lazy to go into details too I think! Just hat point was sticking out in my mind ha ha.

    Re: Mickey's Philharmagic Discussion Thread!

What I was worried about was how the sound and picture was going to be. The 3d/4d attractions are all outdated using old projectors that make bad visiuals. Going to the movies at a local theatre offers better 3d experiences than any Disney movie show in the parks. I hope TDL has changed that fact.

    Re: Mickey's Philharmagic Discussion Thread!

Every time I've seen Philharmagic in Orlando it was nice and sharp.

I assume that this version would have the Japanese actors who voiced the characters in the movies (or sound-alikes) doing the singing, and of course it should be in Japanese!
