Deepdisney uploaded the photo of the construction today. We can see some of the facade with popcorn lights now.

Awesome. Thank you.
I really can't wait for this new section to open. It's probably my favorite attraction at DHS and DCA (I know that's not saying much)--but I always have a good time when I get on it. I know that TDS will really create something magical here.
I like how they're going with the old-time Coney Island/Luna Park theme with this.
There are two things that bug me about this attraction at TDS:
* the big Woody head entrance, and
* the fact that these particular toys didn't exist circa 1900.
Other than that, the show building should be quite beautiful, and a coney-islandesque attraction makes sense within the context of New York of the time.

What does Woody has to do with the 1920s American Waterfront?
Wow looks like it is going fast. Any idea when it will open?
Will we have any luck when we visit TDS in October?
It's actually not directly Woody....
It's that the Luna Park at Coney Island had a clown entrance which was copied in many amusement parks (enter through the mouth) (similar to Krusty at Universal). So the look & feel is accurate to 1920's New York (Coney Island). Woody really isn't, those kind of talking dolls (my guess) is from early 60's... (just checked.... at best from late 50's) which coincides from the look & feel of the Woody's Roundup show. Also the building's look arises from the Luna Park as well...
Very true! Can't wait my heart out to see how it will turn out when finished. A Coney-themed attraction is all, I think, the Waterfront needs to complete its turn-of-the-century character. And everything relating to Coney Island always has an enigmatic and romantic sense which is a perfect twist to be added to the what the theme port currently has.I like how they're going with the old-time Coney Island/Luna Park theme with this.
I suppose one of the reasons is that word "Midway" in the title. The midway theme is the one that has to do with early 20s America, not Woody. What does Woody has to do with the 1920s American Waterfront?
Every great discovery begins with imagination.

"EXPLORATIO CONTINUA"
It'll open right after the 10th anniversary celebration at Tokyo DisneySea finishes if the past practice is any guide. That means next April, I believe.

I think it's absolutely gorgeous. Notice the tiny Hamm and Rex at the top of the entrance spires just behind the tarps
What is on the scrim?
We were sent over there with the message that only we would defend Disney quality.. We learnt quickly that the Japanese culture speaks to a level of quality that is hard to comprehend. They were all unbelievably skilled and willing to do the right thing.Bringing the Love since January 10, 2011

It took my quite some time to see Rex and Ham behind the scaffolding.
I think we're looking at the back of the construction. It looks to me like the scrim has what the building will look like, just like what WDI does with construction on Main Street. (I understand that in the US, this is only done for buildings that are already up and under renovation).
