Re: Best Time(s) Of Year To Visit

We're looking at a couple weeks before Golden Week, with our final day at Disney being April 20, 2012. I see some of you thought this would be a good time. Any tips or major renovations we might want to know about? Is the weather usually alright?

I don't know about TDR (since I've never been there at that time of the year), but I've been to Tokyo in April.

Nice weather. Rains once in a while (usually afternoons), but clear in the morning. My guess on the temps are about
highs of about 67F. (Just checked, I'm a bit off, according to Weather channel, it's 64. 4.9 inches of rain) Low of 50.

No holidays that I know of until Golden Week.

April is a great time to go: beautiful weather and not crowded providing you avoid school holidays.

School pretty much starts April 1st ( it varies slightly depending on where you live and what school they are going too but to be safe say April 1st )

so for 2012 really only avoid Mondays/Fridays/ Weekends/ and especially April 27th-30th

The Disney Hotels are all at premium pricing (high season) pricing for the first week or two of April. Not sure why that would be the case if all the kids are going back to school on April 1.

April is the time that cherry blossoms ( sakura ) bloom! Tokyo is really beautiful during that time!

Thank you jamarmiller, Fukai, and swittdrfan!! So much great info.

Is it common once you start researching a possible trip to Tokyo Disney you can't think of anything else and become completely consumed!?!

Re: Best Time(s) Of Year To Visit

I just visited Tokyo Disneyland on December 22, and the crowds were very light! I thought it was going to be very crowded during that time, but not at all. Fastpass were closed too! The longest wait is 1 hour for Splash and Monster Inc. Unfortunately, Pooh was closed that day . HM Holiday is 25 minutes, and Pirates is walk-on. ( I reached there about 12:00 , bus from Atami )

Wow that is a surprise. And if Disney Land was not full then Disney seas would have been even lighter.

Used to be so busy so close to Christmas. Everyone is still in school and working at that time but kind of surprised to hear of the light crowds.

Yea, but the next day ( Dec. 23 ) I visited DisneySEA, it was extremely crowded! Journey and Tower of Terror was 140 minutes, and the fastpass time was 19:40. Indy was down, but there were looong lines for fastpass. The weather that day was bad, really cold and windy. The only attraction that I can ride was Sinbad, which was 25 minutes. There is a very long line for toilet too, and there were loooong lines for McDuck's. Unfortunately, we need to go to Shinjuku earliy due to some reasons. So we missed Fantasmic!
    What a nightmare!
( At least I got to see Dreamlights yesterday. )
