Crazy outside!

Just watched the news after arriving home and I feel so bad for the people at TDR today who have to commute back home. Trains are 70% decreased and Keiyo line is of course completely down and the wind is just getting stronger as the night goes on. I've been adding photo's throughout the day via twitter. The lines for the buses were insane. At first I freaked out seeing the bus lines but then realized our bus just goes direct to our immediate area so we were not affected. The photo's I uploaded are on twitter at @dreamsweetslove

Is it early enough in the sakura season in Tokyo that most of the blossoms were not blown off?

My son and one of my daughters and I were the day before they shut down the trains. It was crazy windy and cold in the park and it got worse and worse as the day went on. At 8 pm we finally decided we couldn't take any more.

Today is much better! It's sunny and while it is still a little windy it seems to be dying down. The Sakura was still not fully blooming in most places so most of the blossoms should be ok! It's supposed to warm up more tomorrow so maybe this weekend will be nice for Cherry blossom viewing!

We saw a bunch of trees that looked like they were just about to bloom. They'll probably all be covered with blossoms this weekend now that we're gone!

Oh no! Did you at least get to see some of the early blooming ones at the resort?

^ Nope. I'll post my pictures soon and you can see what dreary wether it was and how windy it was from our sideways hair! What I thought was really pretty there were all of the different lights at various. There were also a lot of pretty flowers growing in various places.

My friend is going to visit TDR for the first next week, is it going to be windy? She really wants to see cherry blossoms around the resort.

And, additional question, she's been to DL many times and which attractions and show at TDL and TDS should I recommend? Thanks

Thankfully the weather that day was quite rare with some of the strongest winds recorded in 50 years. It is Spring though so the day to day weather is unpredictable and the potential for a wind show is always there. The Easter events are really nice so I hope everything goes well for your friend!
