New Year's at Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea January 1 - 5, 2013

  • URAYASU, CHIBA--Tokyo Disney Resort® will offer special programs for the New Year's holiday from January 1 through 5, 2013 at Tokyo Disneyland® Park and Tokyo DisneySea® Park. The main program during this period is the "New Year's Greeting" featuring Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and their Disney friends dressed in kimono. Please see below for details.


TOKYO DISNEYLAND PARK

"New Year's Greeting"
  • Location: Parade Route
  • Performances: Twice daily
  • Duration: Approximately 35 minutes
  • Outline: Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse dressed in kimono, along with their Disney pals, will circle the Parade Route on the LiMOUSEine II decked out for the holidays to wish everyone a happy start to the new year.

*Note: The new 2013 Tokyo Disney Resort Ambassador will appear before the Guests in her inaugural greeting during the very first "New Year's Greeting" performed on New Year's Day.
Decorations
The entrance to World Bazaar will have traditional Japanese New Year's decorations featuring daruma dolls designed like Mickey and Minnie, as well as motifs of Kaa* to honor the Year of the Snake.
*Kaa is a snake character that appears in the Disney film The Jungle Book.

TOKYO DISNEYSEA PARK

"New Year's Greeting"

  • Location: Mediterranean Harbor
  • Performances: Once daily
  • Duration: Approximately 15 minutes
  • Outline: Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse dressed in kimono appear on the waters of Mediterranean Harbor riding aboard a barge decorated for the holidays to give their New Year's greetings to the Guests. Joining them are their Disney pals, including for the first time this year, Duffy and ShellieMay.

*Note: The new 2013 Tokyo Disney Resort Ambassador will appear before the Guests in her inaugural greeting during the very first "New Year's Greeting" performed on New Year's Day.
Decorations
Guests will find the entrance area of Passaggio MiraCosta decked out in traditional Japanese New Year's decorations with motifs of Kaa to honor the Year of the Snake.

SPECIAL MERCHANDISE
Park shops will offer approximately 70 different types of New Year's merchandise, such as items featuring Kaa, and Mickey-shaped or Minnie-shaped daruma (Japanese good luck doll) in red and white, or colorful pink and green.
Note: Merchandise is available from Nov. 16.

SPECIAL MENUS
Guests can also enjoy special menus that come with a souvenir item such as hojicha (roasted tea) mousse with a Mickey-shaped and Minnie-shaped daruma (Japanese good luck doll) or popcorn that comes in New Year's souvenir buckets designed with Mickey and Minnie wearing kimonos.

Park Operations on January 1, 2013Both Parks will be open for regular operations starting from 9:00 a.m. on January 1.
Please note that special operating hours will be in effect from 8:00 p.m. on December 31, 2012 until 7:00 a.m. on January 1, 2013, which require exclusive Passport tickets for admission. The exclusive tickets are no longer available for sale.
