Walking Distance? Maihama Station to Entrances of Parks?

OK TDR experts. Another quick question. Is the distance from Maihama Station to the entrance to Tokyo Disneyland and/ or Tokyo DisneySea walkable? Or do I need to get tickets for the Disney Resort Line? Or is that more for hotel guests? My husband and I are very good walkers. I'm looking at the map, but it's hard to tell the actual distance. Is it easy to walk between the 2 parks? I know we can do that on our 3rd day. It seems like the parks are further apart than Disneyland and California Adventure.

just applying what I've been trying to learn in anticipation of my own trip, so don't take any of this as gospel.

it's about a 5 minute walk from Maihama to Disneyland, but if you want to go to DisneySea and go between the parks, you're advised to take the rail. It accepts PASMO/Suica so you don't need to go out of your way for tickets if you have one of those passes already

It takes 5-10 minutes to walk to TDL from Maihama and 20-25 minutes to walk from Maihama to TDS.

Unless you are just making a single round trip for just one day, it is cheaper to buy a Disney Resortline one day or multi day pass rather than pay the full one way price using Suica or Pasimo.

Arriving at Maihama station, everyone walks to Tokyo Disneyland. Most people take the Resort Liner (monorail) to Tokyo DisneySEA.

I greatly enjoy taking the Resort Liner: it gives you a unique perspective on both parks that you won't get elsewhere.

Tickets are also cheap as dirt. I think it's about $15 for a 4-day pass.

There is no sense in taking the Monorail from Maihama to the Disneyland park. The Disneyland Monorail station is useful if you're transfering between there and DisneySea, but the walk from Maihama is 10 minutes at a slow pace.

Walking to DisneySea isn't impossible, but I also recommend a ride on the Monorail - you won't regret it. Just make sure you buy a round-trip in the morning. The ticket lines at the end of the night can get busy.

I've walked to and from both both morning and night. (I just like walking... :-)
TDL is really close (400 meters or so) Many (most) people walk it and there is a nice walkway.
TDS is about 1K from Maihama Station. It's up to you if you think that's "short." (I happen to think so, but a lot don't)
The path isn't very scenic, but goes in front of Disney Ambassador Hotel and parking lots and a park. Sidewalk on most of it, but not especially well lit. Also during the end of the day, it's full of buses and taxis.

It's not a bad walk at all but if you are in a hurry you will lose time walking between parks or walking to TDS from the station. If you are not in a hurry though and the weather is nice is a nice walk and on the way to TDS you can see a large sculpture by Taro Okamoto at the Urayasu Athletic Park.

Agree with BradK - walk to TDL, but take the resort line to DS.

The walk to Disneyland was no problem, even in the rain. I'm glad I took the resort line to TDS because the weather was bad. It's kind of a bummer that the line only runs in one direction. If you want to go to TDS you have to take the line all the way around the resort.

It takes very little time to complete the entire monorail loop!

But if you are excited to get in the park it seems to take forever.

But it that's much quicker to get back to Maihama at the end of the night!
