I can see having a Sports themed season at TDR with parades and merchandise and everything styled as athletes without using the Olympic logo. Everyone will get the connection, buy merchandise and OLC won't have to pay.

They're not going to repeat a sport-themed promotion without an Olympics tie-in. They've already done the sports-themed thing years ago.

Tokyo 2020 will find its own Japanese designer to design its own mascot and sell it themselves. That's a big income.

Disney's only involvement maybe through ESPN. Maybe they can consider opening a ESPN Olympic viewing arena at/near Ikispari.

ESPN is ABC and NBC had a multi year deal, so, maybe someone knows how long that runs.

2020 is the final Olympics of the current NBC deal - I'm not sure when the future games will go up for bid, but presumably ABC/ESPN will be interested. They tried to promote the Disney tie-in last time the rights went up for bid, but it didn't seem to help.

The Olympics are such a major international touchstone, though, that there will definitely be some level of acknowledgement in the parks no matter where the games are held, with an increased presence since they're next door:
