Hi Malin, I feel really bad for asking this as I can't help you out with your question, but I was just wondering what the cost of your trip (including airfare, hotel and park tickets) came to? I'm from the UK too, so it would help if you could tell me in £.

I hope you get the answers you need.

I'm sure TDLFAN will be around soon to answer your questions, but here is my input. I was at TDR back in September 2003.

When we went it was quite busy, but enjoyable. The worst queue was for Winnie the Pooh's Hunny Hunt.

We did not have many problems with the language. Many of the menus used pictures you could point to. Many people speak some English and the rest we could get by with hand signals and such.

When we went, it was hot. Very hot still.

If you like, you can read more about my trip here.

Speedway: I booked it though Thomas Cook and Virgin Holidays, and it was qouted at £1500 which is mental for only 5 nights but Im sure you could get it for a lot cheaper by going though differn't airlines and looking for cheaper accomedation. The price also includes insurrance and transfers but not park tickets.Hong Kong is so much cheaper to visit at around half the price Tokyo is,but I still had my heart set on seeing Tokyo Disney Seas for the first time.

mikelan6: Thanks I'll make sure to read your trip report,Im a bit nervous with the languege situation but Im not going to put that of me visiting the country.

Staying at the park shouldn't cause many language problems. Weather should be nice, maybe a little hot. Could be busy, but shouldn't be too bad compared to the rest of the year.

Oh yeah definitely English maps all over the place. Just about everything there is in English. In fact there is more English than Japanese in the park because of it's Western style. But yes every menu and sign has an english counterpart and all the themed writing is in English. Many of the cast memebers will speak some English as well. If you have a serious problem or important question, they will find someone who can speak English fluently so really not too many worries in the language department.

I thought you could only get English maps at Guest Services? Don't they hand out Japanese maps at the gate?

No they have English maps at the gate. You can ask for one, but if you don't look Japanese, they'll probably ask YOU if you want one.

Re: Going to Tokyo in Sept

Iv'e been wanted to visiting TDR. I'm looking at 2008. I have no clue where to start my search and what questions to ask, or what I should look into. Here are my stats:

I live in the San Francisco Bay area.

I would be going in the off season (whenever that is) in 2008.

    It would be 4 adults.

    I don't speak japanese.

Money is an issue so I want to get best I can for the lowest price.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Going to Tokyo in Sept

I've looked into trips there and the one constant I've found is that there just aren't price breaks. The plane tickets are going to be very expensive and the trip will cost about twice as much as any deal I could find to go to Disneyland Paris even. I really do want to go badly but man, it's just plain expensive.

Its true I also checked prices for Hong Kong which was half the price of Tokyo. What ever way you look at it Tokyo is going to cost a small fortune, compare to other cities like Paris or Hong Kong.

English guidemaps are available at all TDL/TDS ticket windows and Guest Relation desks, plus at downtown's hibiya TDR Ticket Center.

TDL will be busy since they may have the Halloween event goin in full swing, beginning mid sept. TDS will probably be busier than normal due to the 5th anniversary celebration and also because the TOT will be officially opened on sept 4th.
Sept weather in Tokyo should be cool.. in the 70's with chance of rain every now and then.

Thanks for the info TDLFAN,how many days do you recomend I spend at the Resort taking into thought that I have easily spent 5 days at both Paris, and Anaheim parks before and how busy the parks will be during that period. Is there anything in Tokyo itself thats also worth visiting ?
