A Tribute to the Cinderella Castle Mystery Tour

I am so glad that I took the tour on my TDR visit last summer. Very cool. Loved the skeletons rising from their rest. Loved the mirror-mask guy (what's his name again?). Don't speak/understand Japanese, but I still got the point. Maybe the only Disney park attraction that featured Black Cauldron characters and theming?

Anybody know why exactly it's getting shut down? (April 5, I hear, making it less than a week till its demise.) Any word on what's replacing it, or if it's being replaced at all? Will it go the way of DL's Sleeping Beauty diorama?

PS. TDL and TDS are great. They get a lot of love from this DL (Anaheim) lifer.

The space is so valuable in that castle that I doubt it goes unused. The strongest rumors (all rumors mind you) are for a WDW-type Dining Hall for Princess dining.
Which is sad. Guests wanted it because they wanted to go in the castle, so come 1986 it appeared. Now they want to take away the option for most guests getting into the castle.
But the way Americans go nuts for Princess Dining I bet Tokyo will be even more nuts for it.

I took my last Mystery Castle tour the other day... it was really sad to see it for the last time. Rumors have it, there may be some upgraded scares added to the tour for their final days..

It was a nightvision video, but very cool. I love the little effects, for a walking tour it is loaded with SF/X. I love the faces in the fountains.

The day that I took my tour.. no, there were no added scenes or effects, and I still have not heard if this actually did happen, butr my educated guess would be... NO.

Having never been on it could someone explain where in the castle this takes place? On the video it looked like it was going underground. Also what does the Caslte at WDW have in this area?

Well it's in the castle and (I believe) under parts as well. In WDW under the castle we have Utilidors, and in it we have the Restaurant Cinderella's Golden Table.

Just to add to that, it seemed like it was all at ground level and below. I don't remember taking any stairs UP ... besides maybe at the end of the tour to return to ground level...

There is a scene in that video after the mine where the dragon appears. Then a door seems to close and the tour guide is seen talking to the guests. That "room" is an elevator taking everyone upwards.

Isn't Caslte Mystery Tours the only Black Cauldron related attraction in existance? NOOOOOOOOO!
