It appears, from a picture I saw, the Tokyo Disneyland Skyway cabins had glass instead of open-air in the top half. Well, that would eliminate the problem of guests dropping things/spitting, so then why did they remove the Skyway? When did they?
At TDL, can you still see the old stations in Fantasyland and Tomorrowland?
Yes, the cabins had "windows." The Skyway station in Fantasyland closed along with the Small World restaurant in late 1998 to make way for Pooh's Hunny Hunt. There is a tribute to the old Fantasyland station within the Pooh attraction. The structure for the Tomorrowland station has been removed.

The skyway gondolas were enclosed all around it. They also had a built in mechanism that would automatically slow them down as they enter the station, and open the doors, without having CMs getting in the way and manually do that. It was all more efficient than what we were used to seeing at DL and the MK. The Skyway closed about 2 yrs before they opened Pooh's Hunny Hunt. The old Fantasyland Station was demolished and no longer exist since Hunny Hunt was built at it's location. The Tomorrowland station buildingis still there to the left of Space Mountain and is primarily used as the candy shop "Stellar Sweets" located on the ground floor of the former station building.Originally Posted by MotorBoatCruise2005

An interesting tidbit. While they were making Toontown on the right side of the Skyway route, the gondolas only took guests in one direction from Tomorrowland to Fantasyland. The right side of each gondola was covered so that guests couldn't see the ongoing construction.

Imagine a 45 minute meal with nothing but Its A Small World music looping through the MUSAK.
Dont you get to choose which method they use when you're sentenced to death? I'd go with lethal injection over Small World Restaurant any day...
It was actually cute inside since it shared the Mary Blair facade look all over the pplace. I wish I had taken pics in there before it was torn down. But Behold...it's replacement, The Queen of Heart Banquet Hall is TDL's most fantastic and colorfully decorated eatery in the park, and a favorite of many guests.A Small World restaurant!!! What a FABULOUS idea!

I could take photos of the TL station as it sits now next time I go to TDL which will be in late May.

The Pooh ride is in a new building, not the old Fantasyland Skyway building, correct? I would imagine the Pooh ride would have a new building. Which means there's no way to tell the Skyway used to stop there, unless maybe they still have a planter or something where a supporting pole used t obe.
