    Disney's Christmas Dreams On Parade

As could be expected Deep Disney have the first video up of the new Disney Christmas Parade at Tokyo Disneyland. And this year it seems to be pulling a Paris and re using a few parade floats from its daily daytime parade Disney's Dreams on Parade, like Paris does each year for Halloween.Still it looks like a cute parade and love how Stich's cousins are joining him for Chrstmas. Please click between the two stars for the hidden link. * クリパレ *

Think it has something to do with the entertainment budget being run dry this year thanks to all the other lavish events OLC have given us.Looking foward to hearing what you think TDLFAN !

Re: Disney's Christmas Dreams On Parade

^yeah, it is kind of out of the ordinary for Tokyo to do this. the parade had basically two new floats (with the Santa float looking like a very close copy to the one we have here in CA at DL). A Dreamlights overlay, no big-scale castle show. it is kind of weird, but if you think about it, OLC spent huge $$ on DisneySea's 5th. They are in no way being cheap. They could also very much be saving for the lavish and expensive stuff they will do in 2008 for the TDL 25th Anniversary. They are going to be spending A LOT on two whole new parades, and I am sure more.
Saw the parade video, and overall, it still looks extremely well done. No matter what, TDR knows how to put on the best show regardless.

Re: Disney's Christmas Dreams On Parade

Ya know I'm only 2 minutes into watching this, and already it has the feel of watching the disney christmas parades on the singalong videos and on TV christmas morning... the old very merry xmas, not xmas fantasy. It's a bit overly repetitive I guess, and I do think they shoulda cut out some of these floats towards the end though. Things like the buzz lightyear one are pretty unnecessary.

I also find it funny Santa is doing Mickey's choreography from the daytime parade :P

Question though.. Do they not do the moving on parade while they have this one running?

Moving On is not performing during the Xmas event.

As for the parade... I was underwhelmed. I did not like that they reused the regular daytime floats, not liked that the music is old traditional Xmas fare rather than a newly composed theme song. While the parade is still a notch above the tired WDW version of their Xmas parade, I feel this was a lame attempt to save money and therefore, the expectations I had felt short. I also agree the parade was a bit too long for the theme. I sure hope this is only a one-time faux-pas for OLC... or else, I regret to report that something is not right at TDR's entertainment division right now.

Shock? What Shock??? Just because this year's TDL Xmas parade is not as nice as other years... it's still much much better than the same old tired 20 yrs old WDW Xmas parade at the MK. Today, after seeing the fabulously GREAT Xmas version of TDS' Big Band Beat (a show that is well worth the price of admission to that park), the ridiculously exagerated and lavish pageantry of Mythica, and the improved version of "Candlelight Reflections", the shock and shame should be on those of you who continue to patronage the lamer offerings at WDW.
So there there to you.. and further shame on you for offering me an invitation to dinner and play dumb and not follow thru with such promise.

And my G-Fan agrees... and he is harder to please than myself. You should hear his ripping WDW rant as we go about exploring TDR's wonders...

You can call that whatever you want. It doesn't surprise me one bit that that is the way you view it. You know I can't recieve PMs as I'm under 16, you still could have emailed me your cell phone number though, couldn't you? But I couldn't email you. Hmm. Yes, it really was me 'playing dumb'.

I was in Florida for 14 days.
Surely you could have made 'some' contact.

There was nothing blocking me buying you dinner other then you not letting me get in touch with you.
