Ok so for those that don't know the Japanese are considered some of the best in the world at playing the likes of Mickey and Minnie and I throught it be nice here to tell stories of some of your own experiences with the characters.

I got my pic taken with him after waiting what seem like hours last Sept and the interaction he gave me was a true Disney experience

    Re: Characters

True that. NO ONE plays the characters like the japanese CMs do.. Very endearing and lovingly.
My experiences have always been very positive. I like interacting with the female rubberheads at TDR, as they seem to find western men "cute". Daisy and Clarisse have all gone ga-ga over me (I am sure is all an act but WOW! I like the attention) with hugs and kisses. Clarisse even gave me a kiss I heard coming from inside the head as she acted it on me. The young japanese girls were going "heeheehee!!!" covering their mouths as they laughed around me. Very embarrasing.

I've gotten attacked by Minnie (poked in the stomach, swiped at my arm, etc.) a few times. The Country Bears like to compare their stomachs to mine. Pooh has asked me to have a "hunny meal" with him a couple of times too. Don't ask how I understood him!

If I ever get over to that side of the world, what are the odds that I can join Chip & Dale in a prank on someone?

I got mobbed by 4 country bears while eating lunch with my wife. They were trying to recruit me to become a bear too (I'm very tall). They stuck with us for about 10 minutes as it was entertaining the other visitors. It was one of the highlights of our visit.

Not nice. We can't all work in the airline industry.

    Re: Characters

The first time I went, I was watching parade trying to get John Smith's attention as he is a "favorite" of mine. Meeko was next to him, saw my red hear gleaming in the sunlight down parade route. I think everyone saw my firestarter hair. Anyway Meeko looked at me, looked at John Smith. He caught my eye, pointed at John Smith. I nodded yes so Meeko literally turned John Smith around and pointed at me. Very cute and very nice of Meeko to help me out with waving at a favorite character.

I also find dance routines (especially for Minnie) are well choreographed and show off the Character's ability to dance!

    Re: Characters

Do you guys have any pics of the characters there?
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

Nor can we afford minimal expenses to travel abroad.

Too bad I'm going to in Span this summer studying the art scene there instead of going the other direction.

    Re: Characters

I have to say that my all time favorite characters of any Disney park have to be the Jungle Book Monkeys as seen in TDL.

Every time I saw them, they were engaged in hijinks. Not only was it wacky fun, but the physical comedy that the performers brought to the role was at a level that I've never seen in CA or FL.

I'd cast any one of them in a silent film and rest assured that the audience would catch every plot point without subtitles.

Let me explain - no, there is too much, I'll sum up... there's a level of playfulness that the average Japanese guest will endure from characters which (I suspect) would have your average CA AP running to City Hall for a complaint form. Mimicry, stealing hats and food (of course it was returned eventually) I could go on and on. It was always hilarious, and I never once saw a guest being a bad sport about it.

    Gimme monkeys, any day.

(That's my story until they put that zombie pirate monkey in a Ninja suit... it doesn't get any better that Zombie Ninja Pirate Monkeys.)
