    Wink Miracosta Booking

    Hi everybody!
    Anyone know how to book a room at the Miracosta, Tokyo DisneySea? As of Friday 23rd March niether the phone booking nor internet booking seems to be working.

    They don't exactly encourage gaijin to book, do they?

    You can't make Internet reservations unless you're in Japan. The page is in Japanese anyway, so it's not like most of us could manage it.

    To make phone reservations, you have to call Japan. First you get an automated phone system in Japanese. Press 0 and you will get a perky reservationist who doesn't speak English but will apologise profusely. After a few minutes, you'll get an English speaker who will efficiently make your reservation. Good rooms book fast, so call six months out when they become available. You need to leave a credit card number but do not need to give them a deposit. They can only FAX confirmations so be sure to have a fax machine available.

    trdfan is the guy to probarely speak to regarding booking a room at the MiraCosta.

    By the way did you call up between the correct times listed on the website as that could of been the reason you couldn't get through.

    That's right, forgot to mention the time difference. They're 13 hours ahead of Eastern Daylight Savings Time. A good time to call is late in the evening--you'll talk to them tomorrow morning in a science-fictionish time-warp kind of way.

    Actually, they've mailed the confirmations to me. When they do it they also send you a brochure of the hotel and maps.

    Sorry but as of this moment, the reservations center is (still) closed due to an error in the system. They've been down for almost two months now! I've tried phoning dozens of times to ask some questions ; even tried phoning the hotel directly, but no luck. Good thing I made my reservation for the MiraCosta in late January, or I would be really frustrated.

    They have changed it so that the phone call is free within Japan starting March 1st. I'm not sure about overseas calls though... It's a new system so there is a temporary number until March 31st when the new system goes into effect comepletely.

    Losing two months of business is quite serious, don't you think? Even the locals have no way of making reservations unless they go up to the hotel directly.
