Disney parks in Japan mark record 25.82 million visitors in 2006

I always wondered why they don't advertise the foreign parks in the US...why is that?

Simple... WDC does not want you to find out how much better operated and beautiful the international resorts are over the domestic ones. :P God knows OLC does a dang fine job of running TDR, so why would WDC want the rest of the World how embarrasing their theme park division really is???

Actually, the 25 million figure for Tokyo Disneyland is including both parks. Tokyo Disneyland has never gotten more than 17 million visitors in the past. And ever since the opening of Tokyo DisneySea, the attendance of Tokyo Disneyland has dropped down to about 13-14 million.

Except the first year when Pooh opened. TDL held it's own against TDL. It was in their annual report.

So attendance is up yet we are still seeing some of the big events get scale down,like last years Christmas event.Where the Castle Show was reduced and OLC pulled a DLP by using its day time parade as the Christmas Parade.

Is the attendance really that impressive when you look at how much yen was poured into TDS 5th Anniversary on shows and the Tower of Terror.This years attendance is going to be interesting to follow thats for sure with out any Anniversary to celebrate!

That 99% of the visitors are Japanese is fairly obvious if you've been there. In an entire day at Disneysea, I counted eleven westerners besides myself. Other Asians would have been harder to pick out of the crowd, but I never heard any languages besides Japanese.

Pooh's Hunny Hunt opened in 2000 when Tokyo DisneySea wasn't even open yet. And according to my research, that was the last year Tokyo Disneyland got 17 million visitors annually.

An hour on DisneySea? I searched the Travel Channel website for it, could not find a search result at all for DisneySea, or Tokyo Disneyland or Tokyo Disney Resort.

I saw that Travel Channel special on YouTube, but they have taken it down due to copyright laws being violated. To be honest, that special wasn't all that exciting. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it lacked the magic that I saw in some of the Japanese specials on Tokyo DisneySea.

Probably. They featured the Water Carnival before Donald's rubberhead make over like it was a perminate parade similar to WDW. They kind of sold it that way as well, which really didn't sit well with me.

I just finished watching it and was quite impressed actually. Looks different than the one I saw on YouTube. This is the first time that I've seen the $3.3 billion figure mentioned for Tokyo DisneySea's budget.
