Like I said, a large portion of the Mountain is DRESSED with real rock. Small rocks, gravel and other agregate that are pressed into the sculpted concrete.

Rock settles - Rock Moves. There is zero chance Disney allowed a ride system to have structural rock or piles of as part of its mountain. Especially in an earthquake zone.
750,000 square feet is an area measurement - not a volume measurement.

The Travel Channel has done a series on Tokyo, it just doesn't get aired very often. I've seen it once, before I knew much about this park. I wish I could see it again now.I've been telling my friends back home that I'm going to TDS and no one seems to care. I forced one friend to see some of the pictures here. He was sold just on these messageboards. He asked me why the travel channel hasn't ever done a piece. I just figured OLC was making more money that Disney.
That said, the reason Grizzly Run gets more space than Mount Prometheus is simple. Your average person reading this book doesn't care about the Tokyo parks. We Disney geeks of course know all about it, and how much we're getting shafted here in the states, but that doesn't apply to your average reader. They just want to hear about the things they know of. I also wouldn't be surprised to see Disney downplaying the wonder of DisneySea so as not to make the people in the state feel as let down by what we have.
I heard a rumor that Mt. Prometheus was made from real rock. Any truth to this?
According to "DisneySea Revealed", Mount Prometheus is constructed out of real rock. But since early construction photos seem to be hard to come by, we have no way of knowing if there are steel supports or concrete holding up the more than 2000 pieces of rubble. The video also mentions that no plaster of Paris or chicken wire was involved and that it is the largest man made rock structure ever built by Disney.

I heard it was made of candy. Rock Candy![]()
Goodbye, Me Bizarro is not Monkey Joe. Me Bizarro hates Disney parks so much.Hello
Yay! Candy Mountain Charlie!
Yesterday I was listening to an episode of WDW Radio from a few weeks back and Mongello did an interview with Surrell regarding The Disney Mountains. Aside from Mongello saying one line from the book about Mount Prometheus being "the crown jewel of Tokyo DisneySea" there was absolutely nothing said about Mount Prometheus. The whole thing made it seem clear that somebody (either the company or Surrell) does not want to discuss Mount Prometheus. It will be interesting to see how much attention is given to The Lost River Delta in The Creative Force, especially with its post-Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull publication.
They skimped on Prometheus and over-did it on Everest.
