    Countdown Nights

So today at the TDR is the start of the popular countdown events for both TDL and TDS. At the mo we are waiting on videos to come through but I'm sure if you keep an eye out on YouTube videos should soon start popping up.

Below is a pic from Deep Disney of the special Mickey plushes on sale for this event.

And here are some pics also from Deep Disney of the huge crowds camping outside.

The hotel looks awesome now. Can't wait to see the grand opening.

I liked the way they "roped off" where the campers can sit in the parking lot. Makes them look a little more welcomed rather than the squater system some stores let happen here in the states that make it look like an army of homeless people are living outside of Best Buy.

As always... the deepDisney people have no life. And Malin, since your Deep infatuation is unstoppable, could you at least post a picture of the Countdown Party PIN I see next to the Mickey plush you posted on?

The really scary thing is that Deep Disney is run by one guy who visits everyday. And on the days when he's unable to visit, he has friends who will cover for him. Wonder if there are aware that site has such a following among the western world. Anyway sadly no close up pics yet of the pins that can be seen in the picture. Hopely the site will post them over the next few days.

Actually several western fans are blocked from accessing that site.
I get a "Forbidden Access" message everytime I have tried to visit.

Does not matter anymore. I already got me a Countdown pin and some other little things from the party previews.

    Re: Countdown Nights

Hmm I've never had a problem accessing the site, ever. Has anyone else ever had this problem?

Here is the first video up online of the countdown parade on YouTube. Really short through, I'm hoping someone will be recording the full parade to view on his site. But I've tried asking JoeInJpn twice now to no reply.

That's because he's probably filming it as we type all these messages.

Hope so as the Countdown parade is always TDL's biggest parade of the year.

Here you go ladies and gents. It rained on both of the preview nights, so the video shots may not be stable. This is the 44-minute video of the first night in five parts on YouTube. Download will be available in about a day or so. Enjoy!

    Re: Countdown Nights

That has got to be the lovliest Tinkerbelle face character I've seen!

I shouldn't be surprised that TDR launched their fireworks in the rain, but I am. I think the rain made them look brighter, what with the drops on the lens and all.

What I think I like the most out of this year's offerings is the soundtrack. It's worlds above that strange mish-mash from last year's soundtrack and memoribly catchy! It automatically goes in my top three Countdown Soundtracks I've heard (the first place honor going to the Century of Music celebration). Please tell me they are releasing a CD of it somewhere in the park.

It's a shame that none of the states will experiance such a great parade to ring in The Year of The Mouse. Now there's a promotion I can get behind... if done properly, that is.

    Thanks, Joe!

    Re: Countdown Nights

Fantastic video Joe, as I know filming the parades often takes a lot of the enjoyment out of watching it for yourself, I would personally like to thank you for not only producing a great video despite the wet weather, but having it uploaded on YouTube so quickly for us to enjoy.

That soundtrack is incredibly catchy and if the people at Hong Kong Disneyland were smart there will be using the same soundtrack during Chinese New Years, as 2008 is the year of the Rat/Mouse. And despite how great that soundtrack is, I'm guessing no CD will be available.

Interesting to note Mickey, Minnie and Goofy were wearing the same costumes that are used for the Dreamlights parade. And I agree with Zeekslider over the Tinkerbell face character, she's also kind of cute

As we are aprouching the end of 2007 I'd just like to publicly thank JoeInJpn for all the hard work he's put into http://www.jtcent.com over the last year covering all the wonderful events and providing us with all the latest news and info. And here's to 2008 and the 25th Anniversary.

Hey Joe? Just out of curiosity, but why is there no "complete" download of the Countdown video? I mean, why is there five parts that I need to download instead of just one massive ZIP file like before? Does it have something to do with YouTube?

Because of the new resolution size that I have been posting for the videos, this 44-minute video made a file size that is about 250Mb. For many people downloading from my site, the download gets cut off in the middle. So breaking it up into smaller pieces, it makes downloading easier. I only plan to do this for videos longer than 30 minutes.
