February or April and hotel question

I'm planning a trip to Tokyo next year, I plan on spending 3 days at TDR either Feb. 24, 25 & 26 or April 21, 22 & 23, which would be better crowd wise, weather wise, ride shutdown wise, and are the April dates to close to Golden Week.

Also I would like to stay at one of the Disney Hotels can you book a room more than 6 months in advance, and if a time period was Value Season in 2008 would it be Value Season in 2009.

Feb is usually not a crowded mth to visit, but it can be cold.

April's weather is usually better but more crowds.

the last wk of april and beginning of may is usually golden week.

If it is value in 2008, it will probably be value in 2009 too, just check the calender on TDR website. it's up to mar 2009 now.

unfortunately, you cannot book more than 6 mths in advance.

It looks like the only attraction closed on your February dates will be Sinbad's Storybook Voyage.
The schedule does not extend through April yet unfortunately (I am visiting Tokyo April 19-26, TDR 20-23).

February is very cold in Tokyo. The parks are usually less crowded due to that only factor and kids are back in school as well... I would do the April months.. but they will be more crowded, but at least the weather can still be pleasant and cool.

How do you read the ride closures? it's kinda of confusing

I believe the attractions are to be closed on the dates above their names?

yeah. For example Aquatopia is closed from november 8th to November 14th. Does that mean it opens on the 14th or does it open on the 15th

Hmm... I think that means it will reopen on the 15th.

We've gone in February and in April. The weather in April was much nicer and we got to see the cherry blossoms. February it was cold (40-50 degrees) most days but the parks were not as busy as in April (but than again more things were closed). Bottom line is that we had a good time on both trips so go when you can go.

The hotel rates were a little cheaper in February, but the main difference to me was that it was cold in February. I'm a wimp anyway, since I'm from Los Angeles, but this was a hitherto unknown level of cold for me. Like, my first thought when I walked into TDL was "OMG, everything is so beautiful!" And my second thought was "OMG, I'm going into hypothermia and my ears are going to fall off!"

Which is why I own Mickey Mouse earmuffs today.

I've spent Dec and Jan in Tokyo before and it can get really cold, esp with the wind blowing. Cold I can take. Wind ? brrrrr, my ears and fingers feel like dropping off.

The bad thing abt the cold is rides like splash mountain, big thunder mountain are no longer as fun.

If you are going in Feb, bring earmuffs and gloves, unless you happen to be from Alaska.

I guess I'm from MN so when we went in February and it was 40 degrees it was like a heat wave.
