Tsuchiura National Fireworks Competition in Oct 2014

    Hello all

While in Tokyo we are planning to go to the above in Tsuchiura but I get conflicting dates on a few Japanese websites and was wondering if anyone could confirm for me?

A few say the first saturday in October along with at least one other saying it is on October the 4th. Then there is another one that says it is on 10/5.

If anyone could help I would be most greatful!

Oh think I've figured it out 5 Oct was the first Sat in Oct 2013.

So since I have answered it (d'oh!) Has anyone been and is anyone going this year?

    Any tips?

Oh and very stupid question - the IMAX movies in Tsuchiura - are they in Japanese? Their website online shows movie posters in english....

    Hi

I have never been to that fire work, but I would assume that like always, people will reserve their space with blankets days before (there is an area where you pay, obviously you don't have to worry there).

For the IMAX I would assume it may depend on the movie, but the current Transformer movie is shown in English with Japanese Subtitles. When booking, you want to look for the following two characters beside the title: 字幕 This is the indication that they use subtitles, so the movie is shown in its original language. Of course you can ask anytime here.

    Cheers!
