Re: HBO's True Blood

Hi all - I haven't been here sine August! wow I didn't know I was gone so long!!!! LOL I watch this show - tho it took me a few eps to get into it - I'm more of an LKH fan, Anita Blake is really more my style - but I did get into this show about the 3rd show

I can do without all the graphic scenes - Jason, well, I don't need to see the deed - I can hear the screams without actually watching it - but I guess it's to show how much Jason really has in common by using V and the vampires

I do like Bill and Sam - I don't think either one lasts very long do they? The first two books right?

Well glad to be back!!!!

That is NOT correct.

If it was then you might have accidentally spilled a spoiler to people who are planning on reading or watching the series over time. I know it was not intentional but if you want to discuss spoilers the please put them in a spoiler box that way no one has to have any surprises ruined. Thanks.

I don't know - I don't know the series thats why I asked - I don't have any spoilers at all - if it were LKH then I'd know but I've never read the Sookie Stackhouse series - boy oh boy I come back for the first time in months and I've got a slam? It was an innocent question.....don't have a clue at all

Re: HBO's True Blood

I am sorry if you took what I posted as a slam it was not meant to be. I just did not want people who have not had the chance to read the books given bad information ahead of time. As you can see below it sounds as though you have read the books, but were then posting potential spoilers if that info had been correct.

I am guessing that you have read Twilight and that may be where the confusion is from.

Re: HBO's True Blood

Nope, I think I'm one of the only females left in the states that hasn't read Twilight LOL

I just watched the eps - I love the girl Bill had to make - and the head vamp taking over teaching her - fun stuff

I hope they find out that poor Jason is just a victim of his libido! LOL And what about Tara, was that woman a witch, shapeshifter or vamp? Poor Tara, she's being sucked into the underwold without knowing

This show was picked up for a second season????

Oh and Twilight has been optioned for a second movie - I thought it would make a better cable show, it would be able to tell a lot more than a movie for 90 min, know what I mean?

Re: HBO's True Blood

I just finished watching the final episode of "True Blood". Over all they did a good job. I think that the real problem is that they decided to make this first season just the first book. Because of this they had to add a lot more things to fill that time. Some of the things came from the books and some did not but no matter where it came from it was just filler to the main story. The books are light and fast but with all this extra material it did slow down the feeling of the show.

The other problem was that they made the show much more graphic than the books were.

What did you all think?

Re: HBO's True Blood

I liked the show - I'm disappointed I have to wait until next summer to find out who fed on Lafeyette - and I really like him on the show -

I'm interested in the other shapeshifter and why she's after Sam - I wonder if Charlene Harris (the author of the books) has that shapeshifters can make other shapeshifters - much like vampires make other vampires - I'm trying to remember if LKH (Laurell K. Hamilton) does this - I thought that Shapeshifters were bred not made BECAUSE that would be where Tara is - if shapeshifters on True Blood can be made, will Tara be made

I wonder who will stake the new girl that Bill made - because if someone else doesn't I will! LOL

The Sookie Stackhouse series - by Charlene Harris - I think there are maybe 7 books, not sure - I sell out of them the minute I get them into stock

Re: HBO's True Blood

loved the last episode, i feel they did a really good job of clearing up a lot of the storylines but leaving the viewers with enough to ponder and debate about until next summer. i'm VERY tempted to read the books again, but i dont' want the visual presentation of the tv show to be ruined...maybe i'll just wait until the show runs its course

I'm just sad the season is over. I really liked this show and it's torture that they have to make me wait until Summer 2009 to see it again.

If you can not wait for these answers you could always read the books.

I couldn't agree more Gina. Loved the last show and how it tied up most of the season story lines, but also started some new ones for next season.

Now that the show is over, I'm gong to start the first book. I got it when the show started, but didn't want to ruin the suspense of the show. Although, once I start, I'll probably keep going and then ruin the suspense of the next season. But then again, next season is so far away, I may forget what I read by then .

Yeah I know I know that whenever I read the books to a movie or TV show I'm sorely disappointed at the movie or TV show - they leave out so much, tho they need to, but still I tend to love the books and hate the show

I watched Anna Paquin in Darkness.

I no longer watch movies with her in it.

And yes, I did pour bleach into my eyes after watching Darkness.
