Loved last weeks episode. Emerson's Mom ... LOVE HER!!!

I think my two favorite characters are Emerson and Olive. They have the best lines in the show as far as I'm concerned. Chuck bugs me sometimes to be honest. But it all just ... WORKS.

Re: Pushing Daisies Season 2-- Spoilers Ahead

Well, Daisies news lately has been kind of sad. I've been suffering from withdrawls from the last couple weeks of no episodes, not sure how I'll fair if it gets cancelled

But in (only semi) better news: Blink - 'Daisies' Staff Not Ready to Say Die - TVWeek - Blogs
Bryan Fuller says he wants to continue the story in a comic if the show dies.
He also says there will be a CD released Dec 9th (which will probably have Kristin Chenoweth and Ellen Greene signing Birdhouse in Your Soul which is the best news I've heard all week).

Let us all hope, that ABC doesn't kill our show and that somehow the pie maker than can bring things back from the dead will get a second chance to live.

Re: Pushing Daisies Season 2-- Spoilers Ahead

I just got done reading about this in Variety (link here) and am so sad

I really, really hope ABC gives this show a chance. There is still so much to explore. I loved reading your linked article about the different story lines coming up. And I am excited about the soundtrack being released. I would love it if Kristin Chenoweth and Ellen Greene did another duet. Heck, just hearing Ms. Chenoweth or Greene sing on their own in this show is a treat.

Comic book form is better than nothing but it's not like seeing these great actors and those wonderful sets.

Re: Pushing Daisies Season 2-- Spoilers Ahead

Three ABC programs hear no pickup lines
Sad news:
Quote:
ABC made a flurry of midseason programming announcements Thursday, including ordering more episodes of "Life on Mars" and deciding against picking up "Pushing Daisies," "Dirty Sexy Money" and "Eli Stone" for a full season.
I am totally beyond upset over this. Worse to me is that they just did it now not last week when the show was wrapping up so that the cast/crew got a chance to say goodbye. I'm so going to be crying when we get to the final episode.

According to the article, they didn't officially cancel it, just didn't pick up any more episodes so there's a .0000001 chance it could come back, say, next season. I wish, but I won't hold my breath

I hate to say this but I work on the lot and the Pushing Daisies sets are almost totally gone, they're cleaning up in their sound stages now. I went in and there's only one set still standing. And that's because they were going to get to it later.

Re: Pushing Daisies Season 2-- Spoilers Ahead

I just got home and read the news on Yahoo. I too am very upset. I want closure with this show and I'm afraid we're not going to get it. I hate when they cancel shows and leave story lines hanging.

One of the best shows to come along. What is wrong with people? I hate that people don't see quality in these kinds of shows. It's depressing.

So, does anyone know how many shows are left? I can't seem to do the math.

Re: Pushing Daisies Season 2-- Spoilers Ahead

They shot 13 episodes so I think there will be 7 more before the last one ... and they better show them all!!! We need to get another network to pick up our show....I've read on other blogs that some fans are already pushing it to other networks and for fans to get on that bandwagon..

You got that right! I'm really afraid that ABC is going to drop the ball on this though. They better give us a season two DVD.

If the sets have been struck, though, and another network picks it up would they just rebuild the sets somewhere else?

that depends on how much another network wants to invest. It certainly would be cheaper to buy the show, sets and all. but now if they have to rebuild everything....

Sets are cheap, they go up and down in a heartbeat. Soundstage rental, on the other hand, not so much. Unless someone thinks they can sell it to Fox, maybe. Disney obviously doesn't want it, NBC/Uni pretty much does all their own stuff. I hate to say it, I loved the show and have one of the logo daisies on my keychain, but I think it's gone.

Re: Pushing Daisies Season 2-- Spoilers Ahead

Even though this wonderful show has been canceled, I think we should still be discussing the precious few episodes we have left.

Wednesday night's show was terrific. I felt like we were getting back to the roots of Olive's unrequited love for Ned. And of course anytime Kirsten sings, it is a treat. I never saw Wonderfalls but apparently the Muffin Buffalo lady was in that show too.

The makeup on this show always amazes me. The crispiness of the Colonel was great (and his taking a bit of himself right before Ned touches him ) I was also relieved to see that Charles Charles doesn't look all that bad for being dead 20 years.

And also I thought it sweet justice that Dwight got his just rewards.

Well, there was just so much good stuff that happened this week but I'll stop now. How about you? What did you think of this week's show?

Re: Pushing Daisies Season 2-- Spoilers Ahead

Ha, I was just about to come into this thread and say that we should keep it alive, despite our sadness :P

I really really loved last weeks episode (which really, is that a surprise anymore?) I liked the side of Emerson that was willing to help Chuck b/c of his own daughter/father issues.

I really liked the bake-off. The whole thing was crazy. I never watched Wonderfalls either, but the muffin lady was great (oh how i wish they had had time to do a Dead Like Me crossover!)

Hooray for the forseeable end of Dwight, though who's really to say he's gone (and what was that stuff Charles was saying about his insurance policy or something?) Oh and the return of Charles Charles... man they were right when they said this season would confront every family issue!
